Thinking of becoming a Board Member at Perth Racing?

Looking for suitably qualified candidates for recent vacant position of Board Member following the sudden departure of Robert Bransby late last week.
Mr Bransby (someone who I have never met, he heads up a large company) decided he could no longer tolerate the management of issues surrounding  Belmont Park and stormed out.

Perth Racing for their part, have not even released a media statement, I can only presume in the hope that nobody will notice and it will give them enough time to come up with a suitably worded document that makes them look both competent and sad at his departure.

I'm told that Mr Bransby is of the opinion  that Perth Racing is devoid of the abilities required to manage and operate sporting facilities and that it should become a function of the public service with Govt oversight.

Members have been informed that due to the '**** up' at Belmont this season, discounts are now available to keep them sweet. Membership fees are now due and Perth Racing is hoping that numbers will not decline now that they have managed to do the almost impossible and lose the entire capability to present horse racing on what was once described as the best wet track surface in the country.

There was multiple studies done by deloitte, who were engaged and paid for by PR, highlighting the fact that re-developing Belmont Park was an absolute must as its located in an entertainment precinct……… why the f… they had to pay probably $1m in fees to learn this has me completely miffed. However, nothing has been done except for a lift repair…….
Just shows the level of the board and previous boards, they are non do’ers in my opinion. No wonder Mr Bransby is annoyed and stormed out. Looking at his resume he seems like a “do’er”. He probably doesnt want his name tarnished by being a part of a board that sits and achieves absolutely nothing. My opinion only.

These guys would get an honorary doctorate in incompetence, they are just lucky and should be eternally grateful that no jocks have been killed in the "tunnel". The lift was expected to be completed by the end of July, well we'll see won't we, that's if the track is ready for racing ? I try to live on a positive belief that all in their positions are doing the best they can, but those thoughts have been eroded by consistent "mistakes" over a period of time we don't need to go over. I've been involved in this industry for a long time and cannot think of a time when have been placed in such peril by the people who are in charge of making the industry great. A blown globe would have more spark than some of these people making decisions on behalf of a multi million dollar industry that the bulk of us love, THE END

    • Understanding of risk
management, compliance, and governance within a complex environment,
ideally with prior Board or c-suite experience

    • Experience in government
      relations and communication

This position will be in place from
the time of appointment through until the Club’s AGM in October 2025, at which
the position will be filled via election according to the Club’s by-laws. For
clarity, the successful candidate appointed to the temporary position may stand
in that election, should they wish.

    Only current
eligible Members of Perth Racing may apply for this temporary position; to
confirm eligibility, please refer to the Club’s by-laws, which are available here.

appropriate control and monitoring systems are in place to manage the
      impact of these risks

    • reviewing and
approving the Club’s internal compliance and control systems and codes of
      conduct

    • approving the
