    Sorry, slightly off topic, but still sort of on topic....

    I know everyone has their own way of showing emotion but I don't like seeing winners of big races acting very ho hum about it. Most owners and quite a few trainers would be excited to win a Maiden race never mind one worth a few $$$$$. That is why I loved the celebration by the women (owners and trainer) at Flemington over the carnival a couple of years ago.... horse's name escapes me for the moment but I think Berriman rode it.

    i lost it when i won a maiden at northam, have won a few saturday races since and still get more excited every time... was talking to a family member who comes to the races with me, he always says "who needs drugs when you have a horse that can win a race". i would have to agree.

    We've been lucky to win a few races but I remember getting very excited about one of our horses finishing THIRD. Good reason though.. it paid nearly $20 for the place.

    Some of the comments on this thread are frightening. My namesake was adopted into the hall of fame last night but obviously I come from a bygone era.

    The use of illegal drugs and excessive use of alcohol are undermining societies all around the world yet we have people on here advocating the former.

    I agree with you totally Aquanita.

    The biggest problem however is governments and law regulators who don't understand that our problems with alcohol and drugs are underpinning the moral fabric of society and the future is being determined by their total inability to deal with the situation.

    Today I heard on 6PR that the do-gooders don't want repeat juvenile offenders named on the web.

    They are purely pieces of shit with no respect for their fellow counterparts in society.

    I am over this rehabilitation shit.

    If you offend pay the price. It is a shame we don't have laws and penalties similar to some of our Asian counterparts.

    I was broken into a week or so back and I swear had I caught the pieces of shit they would have paid the price. It shouldn't happen but too many bad parents breed bad kids.

    You should have to obtain a license to breed. It is common sense. At the moment too many ninkinpoops breed.

    I am an x-police officer and I can tell you that alcohol poses a much larger problem in society today than MOST ellicit drugs do. Who smokes weed and bashes their wife?? who snorts coke/speed and crashes their car? illicit drugs are responsible for the majority of break-ins . some things are legal and some are not.
    popping a pill is hardly performance enhancing.

    I don't think it's all about performance-enhancing Charliemark. It's probably got more to do with having these people being able to perform their job with a clear mind, therefore being able to do it safely.

    Looking back at how proud and excited Blacat was when Chatfield was going great guns, you've gotta feel for the guy now. Must be quite devastating to him as a parent and personally a bit of a kick in the guts.

    Chloe has a MRW of 52 and given she claims 1.5 can't be a natural lightweight.
    I think some jockeys are tempted for more than just social reasons. I can only sypmpathise to a point though. I have never taken an illegal drug and I was a uni student for 7 years! I was young, single with no job. I had a bit of cash too, thanks to finding WA racing.
    When I was a strapper at Randwick, I had bongs thrust in my face. I was the only one in the room who refused to partake. There were times when peer pressure was enormous at uni.
    I'm proud to be my own man. I decide what I do. I decided I didn't want or need to experience illegal drugs.
    I did get pissed as a fart on occasions and agree alcohol in large volumes is very dangerous. The legal alcohol is very very dangerous. The last time I got drunk was after winning a cricket grand final. It was premeditated and I took precautions :lol:
    That was 4 years ago! A case of Cascade Light lasts me a year :lol:

    Anyone with a relaxed and apathetic attitude to drug use obviously hasn't experienced the devastation it causes to family and friends. Sadly my family has not been immune to it and the same can be said for the families of several friends of mine.

    The racing industry is riddled with the problem the same way society is and apathy (as displayed with some comments on here) is a contributing factor. :evil: :evil:

    thank god your a x-police officer ... buddy i have plenty of copper buddys and i can tell you that none condone the use of any drugs and the dangers they face dealing with either drunks or cracks heads on a daily basis highlights the issues currnetly out there ...anyone whom appluads the use of drugs for any reason ( iilegal) is irrisposible and ill informed ... Young Chloe knew the risks and old saying ...live by the sword ...die by it ... i just hope this was a one of thing and she pulls her head in and puts this behind her and doesnt throw away a great little career !

    I have no qualm with the 'war' on synthetic drugs like Meth, Coke, etc but I'm of the opinion that anything that grows naturally is here for a reason. There's a difference between taking mushrooms or peyote to go to Dreamworld and hurl up on while you ride the Roller Coaster like a twat, and taking a measured dose to go sit in a field and explore your subconscious, and it gets back to the way people choose to use what they take.

    Gets back to personal responsibility just like every other action in life - I dont have a problem with anyone, doing anything, as long they dont effect anyone else's life in anyway shape or form.


    Apathy is the right word and you've clearly displayed that with your response.

    There is plenty I would like to say but this is not the place... not even the right forum.

    Stick to your assessment of Hong Kong Racing Linc an area where you are clearly more informed and more accurate with your assessment.

    Not very responsible....wow.......god forbid we should have an informed debate where 2 sides of an argument are put forward.

    My contribution is all about responsibility if you read it correctly - about people taking some for their own actions and being educated about the decisions they make. There's no point sticking you head in the sand like a knob and hoping for the best - people try things, so live with it and decide how to best manage that situation rather than your ancient approach of punishment which clearly doesnt work.

    I'll leave you swillers to agree amongst yourselves in future..
