Last night, at around 20:20, i went to the Maylands Pub/Tab to have a bet on A.Pleasure. I still can't believe the price was $6.00, well, anyway, the pub was open, but the totes had been put to bed. Are pubtab's allowed to close early, as I'm sure there was Mandurah dogs on?

Yes, went to the same TAB, and was informed they were closing at 8.45pm on the night I went there. (over six months ago)
If the PUB is still open, I don't see why the need to shut down the TAB facilities.
Have been told that some PubTAB's make such a small amount (commision wise) after 8pm, they just don't bother operating.
Although I thought I read somewhere on the RWWA site, that TAB's had an obligation to remain open atleast while the venue is operating?
Found it:
What Hours Should the PubTAB be Open? You are required to provide a TAB service during the Hotel's opening hours when the TAB is on-line. For special events, such as the Melbourne Cup, you are expected to open earlier.

That says to me that they have to be open!
