    bring in NANNES

I don't understand normally you are very levelled headed about such matters.

Did he run over one of your pets or something  ?
  • just objective

he did well yesterday - must have known those canadians would miss the thigh high full toss deliveries

hope his slower ball is still effective against the good nations

moves him into 17th for wicket takers for the World Cup - altho still behind Tait and Johnson

Be interesting to see how those two are going at Brett's age.

:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( was hoping the West Indies were gonna get up there - They had their chances! Was pretty impressed with Russel's knock there at the end - and well we all know what mr Chris 'cool cat' Gayle can do - that 43 of 21 to open the innings up was phenomenal! Graeme Swann bowled very well again

Hope the Aussies smash Pakistan in their next match! looking forward to it, as we approach the business end of the tournament. All the mickey mouse stuff is out the way - finally lol :D :D
  • Poms are very lucky to still be going

The joke about this world cup is Aussies could go through undefeated to next round and come up against England who have lost to Ireland and Bangladesh in a sudden death match at a neutral venue. We have a month of often boring cricket to sort out a ranking of these sides for the tournament yet there is no advantage to finishing top in your group! May as well just put the top 8 sides into a hat and play a knock out competition if they aren't going to reward success from the previous round!

Would have though playing England would be a massive advantage (for finishing on top)

game at the moment is shaping up well ireland 92 off 15 chasing 307 some very ordinary bowling but atleast it makes for a entertaining game

Hope the associates get a run at the next world cup reckon it is worthwhile adds something different to the tournament and may find some good players even if they do play for England who cares.
On another note are the Windies ever going to win another big game under pressure? they must persist with Pollard he at least looks as though he enjoys the fight hopefully he can one day produce like Viv would under pressure.

Seriously how is Smith and White still in this team?

How can we carry these guys into the next stage.

    D.Hussey and Ferguson should replace.
  • well played Brett Lee

thought Umar Gul bowled well (was my MOM) - wish WA could get him back

Agree Torp enough is enough for the dummy spitting Ponting he shows pharkk all leadership when its needed that little spit the other day when he and Smith were going for the catch is something i have never seen for any former Aus Captains it was down right disgraceful his time is fast coming to an end

I've said before I was willing to give him the WC, he deserves it, but he should retire at its conclusion because he has been struggling for well over 2 years now.

We needed to lose against Pakis, but still the selectors won't do anything but stick their heads in the ground.

Some of the guys need to take a leaf outta Bing Lee's book.

This guys has trained so hard to get back to somewhere near his best.

Been a great comeback and from what I've seen could easily still play test cricket for Australia in the right conditions.

Twas great to see him so fired up last night!
  • dungydungy    9,278 posts
Yep agree Binga could stioll cut it at Test level after his recent form ,Tait is as soft as a tissue no ticker
  • The quarter final are salivating

    Pakistan v Windies
    India v Australia
    New Zealand v South Africa
    Sri Lanka v England

Be nice to see Paki's, Aussies, Saffers and Sri Lanka win

If we can't get near Paki's we won't be getting in same hemisphere as India !
    Out first round.............

    Mr Positive
  • first loss in 35 games or something and tivers throws the towel in :P

think we are outclassed but India's bowling isnt that strong - will need our bowlers to really produce tho against there brilliant batting lineup

Blast em out I reckon J.K out Nannes in.

They play spin to well to worry about having a specialist spinner in me thinks.

And there's the problem..................You're relying on the selectors to fix it !
  • goosegoose    1,638 posts
India will have pitch to suit and Tait looked ordinary the other night bring in Nannes reckon we are gone though cant see one of the batsman doing a Gilchrist or similar.
Who will play the winner of Pakis and Windies? they will get the easy run in to final Windies a chance for an upset against Pakis.

    The batsman are to blame.

The bowlers have been the saving grace.

Haddin and Watson fire we are a massive go.
  • PrecisionPrecision    295 posts
Agree with Torp need Watson and Haddin to bat well. Think we can only win if we bat first. Also D.Hussey must come in for Smith, his spin is what we need stump to stump making trhe batsman take a risk to get the boundary, our current spinners offer up too many 4 balls so that they don't need to take a risk off the better balls.

Also why is everyone saying bring in Nannes? He can't come in as he's not in the squad. He's there in case of injury but he needs ICC approval to come into the squad and that would only happen if someone's leg falls off especially before we play India!

    Ar ok re Nannes.

Tait had an off game but thats the nature of the beast with him I guess.
