    Shuey is the Rd 2 Rising Star, if he plays the majority of games this year he will win it.

    In his 8th game playing on the ball he had 27 disposals, 3 goals, 13 contested possessions, 6 clearances and 10 I50's.

    I had $100 on him at start of season @ 8s.

    The kid is a ball magnet, has speed, as good a kick on both sides of the body as you will ever see (best since Aka IMO) and kicks goals. Sammy Mitchell goes alright too.

    must say this is probably the best year for the Rising Star in a long time

    Shuey, Liberatore, Heppell plus all those Gold Coast kids

    The scary thing is Wallis Jnr is a better player than Libba Jnr, Wallis would have gone top 10 in draft, perhaps even top 6 if not for F/S.

    Shuey will need to add strong shoulders to that list of attributes - he's gonna have to carry that midfield, Gaff will help in time but not for a while. Can't rely on has beens like Embley to pull games like that out of his arse every week

    Wooshas gotta hope and pray Priddis stays sound. If he goes down big ask to expect kids to win clearances. Maybe Swifty could come straight in :lol:

    And just when I thought news couldn't get worse, Hackdorn has reported Waters needs a full reco and out for season.

    We will be giving up our first round pick plus some player no doubt, but he is returning home next year to join us.

    NicNat, Masten, Swift, Rich...the U18 winning premiership midfield will be reunited minus the crappy one, Palmer.

    Masten mmmmm yeh what a star like your really missing him best thing that happened to the Eags all year and Occy i wouldnt worry about Waters he aint much chop mate he couldnt hit the side of a barn his kicking is shocking

    Waters did the best bit of play I have seen this season

    2 tackles - then a smother - hand receive with a kick to space for Embley and a Goal assist

    Yes, he can be average by foot, first week he was absolutely shocking but last week he was great.

    On field leadership and defensive pressure he has in spades and can't be underestimated, will be greatly missed by young team.

    Jeez Della whats going on? A positive post about the Eagles? And no mention of Tom Swift? :lol:

    Wraps have been big on Shuey, but the kid has just played his 8th game, dont expect games like that every week.

    I reckon the bigger positives are a fit Cox, Glass and Hurn and competition for spots. Would like to see Broome get elevated from the rookie list for Waters.

    Would be jumping the gun a bit, his form has been outstanding in the WAFL, kicking 13 goals from 3 games but the Tiger forwards are getting fed plenty of ball, even Della could probably kick a goal in that lineup.

    He is also too small, needs to put another 5kgs on. Happy for him to play a solid season in the WAFL, get his hat trick of BOG performances in GFs and be ready to go in 2012.

    He would make a fantastic sub when he does first get a crack, he would run rings around the tiring defenders in the final qtr.

    Weedon must be close to an AFL debut when a spot opens up.

    Yeah maybe, but you look at the other Indigenous small fwds, Lewis Jetta and Garlett from Carlton both look like a strong breeze would blow em over. Play blokes while they're in form I reckon.

    You are overestimating the size of Broome,pretty sure he is the smallest man ever to be listed.

    He weighs 62kg, which is probably 10kg lighter than anybody running around in the game at the moment.

    Garlett and Jetta both weigh 74/75 respectively for reference.

    I didnt realise he was only 62kgs. Looking at him live in the NAB cup he didnt seem too small to compete. I concede he is probably too light at the moment, however Garlett and Jetta are both nearly 6 foot too. Would be interested to know what they weighed when they played their first games.
