Cheers,

Guyno might fancy his chances then I'd say. Could be a win for the Guyno man hahahaha.
Ok well lets look at the stats.
At 2400m Guyno has had 9 starts: 3-1-2
These wins were the WA Derby, Perth Cup and Mornington Cup.
He also finished 2nd in the Perth Cup, 3rd in the Pinjarra Cup and 3rd in the CB Cox Stakes.
At 2400m Rogan Josh had 5 starts: 1-1-0
His win was the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes. He also got 2nd in the CB Cox Stakes and got 4th in the Caulfield Cup and 5th in the Hong Kong Vase overeas. He finished 4 times in the top 5 from those 5 starts.
It's a toss of the coin in the scanario that your suggesting Skywest_Airlines. Could go either way.

Yeah spot on, and that Mackinnon win was a fast one as well. 2:00.34, second fastest Mackinon Stakes in the history of that race (Horlicks holds the record with 2:00.30 when she won the Mackinnon in 1989).
I couldnt see Guyno doing that.

...and a crap broodmare. She threw that lowly handicapper Brew
...and one of her daughters foaled Fiumicino (G1 AJC Australian Derby)
So do you think Brew wasn't that good a stayer? Do you think he was an ordinary handicapper? I know he won a Melbourne Cup and the Group 2 Saab Quality but he didnt do much else. Mind you a lot of other people call Rogan Josh a handicapper was well. Still - as you pointed out he did win at WFA. Not that he was a WFA horse but he is a WFA winner. I couldnt see Brew doing that.
I think from memory Brew had a feather weight in that 2000 Melbourne Cup. I think he had 49.5kg? He also ran in the previous Melbourne Cup in 1999.

He probably didn't live up to the expectations, but he got a Melbourne Cup in the end.
Put it this way, I think Rogan Josh was a better horse than Jezabeel who won the Melbourne Cup the year before in 1998 and a better horse than Brew who win the Melbourne Cup in 2000.

That's the trouble with this forum. Not many people want to contribute to the forum which is a shame.

Like you said though, its hard to win a Melbourne Cup and no one can take that away from Brew.

Other than that nothing makes sense
I don't think so
Actually the furtherest Guyno has won is at 2600m in the Group 3 2011 Lord Reims Stakes at Morphetville.
I agree I don't think Northerly would have beaten Media Puzzle in that 2002 Melbourne Cup. They went at a decent clip - 2nd fastest Melbourne Cup actually - Northerly would have been really tested.
Yes I can see where you are coming from.
