Anyone got anything in these meetings on the weekend?

Leonora looks skinny, some 4 and 5 horse fields there, pretty good prizemoney considering. Carnarvon on the other hand very healthy sized fields.

Broome fields look pretty good too, the racing patern was very skewed towards the front runners first meeting back. They were leading, speeding and not stopping. Wonder if that will continue?

Broome always favours the on pace runners, but that is because most horses dont like having sh*t thrown in their faces.
Go as fast as you can for as long as you can wins alot of races in Broome.
I like a few early days for the weekend, be interesting to see what prices they will be. Big tote pools at the first meeting meant you could find some value.

Couple of things about Leonora. They are one of the clubs that suffer from the rule where you can only start once in a day (Except Kojonup & Landor). It was the case up until a couple of seasons ago where runners would start twice & bulk up the fields & quite often win twice.

Also with the meet moved forward from Monday Fiona Scott, at least would have moved on to Broome so 4 or 5 runner not there. But yes Carnarvon have great noms. Numerous horses moved up there.

I lived in leonora until about 1995. Even then you couldnt start twice in the one day. And was a licenced Jock venue.

Not sure when it cut out, but it was laverton, leinster and Wiluna where you could start twice in the one day, with amatuer jocks.

Sorry Nats but your memory or facts are a bit astray !

On 20/9/2008 a horse called Freedom Tower won races 3 & 6 that day. The second win was the Cup ridden by Ben So. That's just the first meeting I looked up. Meeting link below .............

Got great fields at Carnarvon... but still struggling to get the Jocks. Where are all those Maylasian apprentices they used to send us?

Trivia - Freedom Tower was owned by the late Les Samba

A horse named Magical Note won its third race in a row at Leonora today. It was advertitised by its owners about three months ago as a free broodmare, but couldn't get rid of it. Aaron Bazeley bought it for $500 to race and has won 3 out of 3 and about $13000 in prizemoney. Note a bad return for $500.
