Has anyone seen the racebooks for Kal ecently? absolutely brilliant. In a first for WA racing it includes a colour image of each runner's colours alongside each horsees name in the book.
A great innovation.
Well done Kal Racing Club.

    been around since the year dot in Singapore and Malaysia, when the Summer Carnival was a real carnival they would do the major races with the jockey colours.

    Rod Evans use to get them done in the 70's by a kid who had the jockey stamp and would colour the colours with coloured pencils, think he use to get $2 a book.

    Looks the same to me - am I missing something?

    EDIT : werent showing on my Iphone - works on the PC tho. Excellent - have seen people oncourse with the same for Belmont so someone obviously taken the next step and uploaded it.

    its a great feature ,pity it took 30 plus years
    books were like that in my home town when i was on the nipple.

    wonder if it catches on to belmont and ascot?

    Perth Racing did it for years on a weekly basis and on big days 25 years a go.

    nice touch but not required.

    Looks great and is a welcome feature.

    One question - will they be jacking the prices up over the round to pay for them?

    page looks nicer...wifes and girlfriends dont have to asked..Which horse is mine?...Think its a nice touch and should be done for all meetings well definately when its fillies day...and even tho it wont help you pick a winner..it does make a boring book look a little spekky....might also help when you watching them in the run for blokes like me with short term memory loss

    there are formguides at Belmont with Jockey silks on and they are Free too

    Who needs colours...most avid racegoers have a fair idea of colours anyway. A glance at the book has the colours written there. If you haven't got binoculars you can't see much anyway.
    Darwin had a decent book...but it cost 10 bloody bucks!!! :x

    A very welcome addition in my opinion. Especially for the "few times a year" racegoer who doesnt automatically know the colours.
    Can only be a matter of time before they introduce it into the perth book.

    I reckon it was probably a cost thing that kept it so long?

    They put the beer prices up a dollar per stubby last week?

    As if getting approx 20,000 extra patrons there in a week won't cover the bills.

    From what i've heard the prices will stay, but it does cost more to make than they are selling for :wink:

    Excuse me Mr no all Falcon.
    This is indeed a fact that the racebooks DO cost the club money to produce in this form.
    The club carries the extra cost to once again try to please punters!
    Why do people allways doubt things when they have no idea of the facts?
