Like I was saying during the short form series, Paine should be at least getting experience in one of the forms.

Perhaps, don't know, but I thought he was our no1 choice in the T20s.

Pretty sure I've been calling for SOS to be in the Test team for the last 2 years. So glad he's taken his opportunity. Just hope they don't ask him to open for Hughes when Ponting comes back as he's not an opener.
  • having hussey at the crease has really helped him

    goodwork SOS

Simple because Khawaja is our No.6, Ponting is our 3 so whoever came in was going to bat 3 so not to disrupt the rest of the line-up.
Sos looks like he has changed his stance a little, more upright so head balanced no longer falling away to off side.
Congrats to him and i hope he does well, but that SL seam attack is pop-gun stuff. Sangakara taking the 2nd new ball....
Hopefully they turf Hughes before Sos.

Really? That's what your going with? You must be a wanted commodity in grade cricket as a batting coach!

He's always been very still and upright in his stance, just admit the guys better than you gave him credit for. His Shield average in the last 3 years is around 60, that's not by accident. He's deserved his chance and full credit to him for taking it.

Don't really have the time or inclination. Maybe down the track

It's just you have many times made the point that SOS doesn't have the technique to be a test cricketer and when he proves you wrong well obviously he's changed his technique.....convenient
  • TiversTivers    7,720 posts
He does actully know what he's talking about.
Has played grade and even County (England) cricket

Word is : SOS batting 3, Punter dropping to 6
  • PrecisionPrecision    295 posts
SOS 3, Punter 4, Clarke 5, Hussey 6.........I like it.

Saying that get on SriLanka or Draw this Test, can't see how we can bowl them out twice with Harris out.

If the above is correct then i'm sure i have come across The Funkster before. But facts are SOS is proving he's a worthy test cricketer and all i'm saying is I've been saying that for at least a year, Funkster has been saying he's not up to it...............one of us is correct. I didn't take his $1,000 bet about Kahawja getting to 10 matches first because I can't afford to lose that much, but I don't think that takes away from my cricket knoweledge
  • Is HUSSEY the best allrounder to have ever played for Australia?

Precision are you a cricket journalist?

Precision could probably answer better than me but i would have thought Mark and Steve Waugh took more wickets and scored more runs didnt they over a period of time ??

Thats what i thought 4 wickets and Della is calling him an all rounder ?? How many did the Waugh boys get each im tipping a lot more than that

None of them can bowl !!!

the thing you need to undersatnd dungy is that Mr Cricket has more talent in his little finger than 99.9% of players

he is a very humble man who has never put his own interests before the team but facts are

    1. He should have played Test Cricket for Australia about 5 years before he actually did - a bit like SOS now

    2. He only has 4 wickets because the previous Australian Captain had no idea who the good bowlers were

No-one here making a good argument there has been a better all-rounder than Hussey

Della wont disagree regarding him playing Test cricket 5 years earlier he was dead set stiff and also wont disagree he should have got dropped 2 years ago as well Della i wouldnt class Huss as an all rounder terrific batsmen one of the best if anything Watto has him covered already as the all rounder
  • Are you kidding ???

Firstly you wanted to drop the best player Australia has had since Don Bradman

Secondly Watson OMG - I am still laughing

    Test Averages

    Shane Watson

    Batting - 40.22
    Bowling - 29.40

Seriously how many more times you want me to prove you wrong?
