After reading todays West seem near on nothing coming from East ,Ortensia will come now but thats about it ,Darley not coming,Albert The Fat is heading to Dubai ,Testa my Patience paddock,what a shame it looked like a real good carnival with good Eatern Staters heading over but not now oh well,Ranger,Luckygrey,hopefully Barakey i have taken 6s will all race well .
maybe they should preface g1 with "p"......either "p"erth or "p"retend
i'd favour the latter myself.

once i could draw heaps of abuse, but those days are sadly done, maybe the westerners are mainly in agreeance these days.
a wise old bugger like me always said there was a snowball in hells chance of her coming. the connections would be bonkers to come over here.
Unfortunately the lack of availability of flights, the distance, potential Perth heat and hard track are seen as too big a risk for many e/s horses.
I see that Chris Waller stated that PR close noms too early and that they should delay it til after the Melb carnival
So is this episode to become the first excuse of the returned administration on what will become a litany of potholes on the road to the next election ?
Perth Racing were throwing figures around of 30,000 on course, if I had to guess now, I would say between 4,000 and 6,000 will attend what will become not much more than an ordinary Saturday in an ordinary Racing Carnival.
I know there is a band playing, sorry but I have never heard of them, my partner tells me that they sing some song or something but then she is more in the target audience than I am.
The only thing 'Super' about this Saturday meeting, will be the price of admission.
Who in their right mind would pay 35 bucks for a bottle of yellowglen. An inferior "bubble" at about 8 bucks in Liquorland.
Don't get me started on the swill...err "food"... :x
The Railway Meeting usually pulls in 8,000 minimum crowds, regardless of interstate entrants and/or Jimmy Barnes.
Potbelleez not a bad get (if your into it), but dont undersell our main race day.
Predicting 12,000 min, with a little fine weather and the firmer committment of some of the names bandied around at this stage from the East.
Admission and food/drink prices are another story entirely...

Ortensia just won a listed race on Saturday. Albert The Fat won the Emirates on Saturday, He's Remarkable won a $100k race on Saturday. Rarefied 2nd in a Group 2 the other day by a whisker.
These are good horses and theyre in form.
OK..think about it...she was going to arrive tomorrow, where was she to be stabled?
Did an advance party from the Moodie camp come to check on everything?
Was her feed and water sent over?
Whatever..it will still be a super saturday...
yes, their stabling is all sorted and their feeds and staff accomodation are sorted too.
cant see any reason why black caviar's wasnt tentatively organised aswell.
Again I put it to you that this is the same case each and every year, that something is coming, and it is not. Promises are made and broken just as quickly, with as little value as the breath in which they are written on.
So as an alternative, how is this for a marketing idea ? We have a Group 1 $500,000 race, all expenses paid if you declare, if you don't want to nominate because you are not serious, who cares. Your loss. But if you are serious about running in Perth, give us a call. We are not going to chase you.
If you don't nominate or declare, we will assume the you think you are not good enough. Doubt you would have beaten the locals anyway.

With the big push for BC having the effect of scaring the interstate opposition and then maybe the concerted effort put into getting her has come at the expense of neglecting other possible entries.
PS: The return of the 2010 Winterbottom winner the other week, Hababeclorka, probably also didn't help, fair dinks!
although heard moody has always hated the perth track and believed it to be too hard.. this would be the main reason i think
I honestly thought the apache cat/takeover target showdown was the beginning of things. Mind you, the WATC has given the eastern state trainers everything on a platter.... very suprised to say the least...
So she can keep running her little contrived races over east .
Kingston town won over all distances and beat legends and came to perth on 3 legs and was wide all they way and won the western mail classic(kingston town classic)
Now That's a Champion!!!!!!
That would give her the flying experience and still get the punters thu the gate.
That suggestion was made weeks ago...she was never, ever going to come...despite the owners wanting a tour of the wineries. They can still come for that & still be feted in the committee room.
