Punters if u are in any dought what kind of jockeys we have riding in perth this race sums it up.Now wait for it the over all time today for the 1400m was 1.27.15.Thats right i am not joking the first 800m was run in 52.58sec or 13.14 for each 200m of that first section.I wont say any more i let u be the judge looking at those facts out of race. Now if u think that is having a go i must live on another planet.I thought melb cup day was bad today got lower. One would have to conclude they have no idea of tempo or they just did not try.Which ever way u look at it it does not look good from were i am looking.Nothing even put in the report after race nothing were is the protection of the punter i ask.But one thing i will say is i will never be having another bet on a race course again ever in perth because in my 20 years of punting that was the worst display of riding i have even seen u should all give back your fee .For the people running racing there to not even get those in and have a few words tells me they have no idea or just dont care which ever one it is its a joke and the poor old punter pays for all of it.

Pretty sure a race record was broken on cup day mate. That sort of disproves your argument.

Weren't on the odds-on'er bud, obviously?
The two biggest certainties out of the race are that you will indeed bet in Perth again, and that you will also be posting long winded mis-spelt tirades when you do your cash.
Winner ridden to suit and got home in 34 and a bit behind Mavromata, which in hindsight was always going to be the way it played out.
Sky Magic probably equalled the winner's sectional but was always coming from too far back to have a say in it.

He does have a point. At Flemington for example last Saturday on a Dead 4 they had 2 1400m races. The last, Race 9 was run in 1.22.92. That's the equivalent of 21 lengths faster than Race 3 at Ascot today. They also ran the last 600m sub 35.00. We are talking about a $100,000 race compared to a $40,000 race but 21 lengths

Makes you wonder what sort of intellectually challenged person would bet on Perth? And then bet on them again.............. and again................ and again?

And then yes you guessed it still bet on them. But rather than being more intelligent than the mouse that kept going back for the cheese and getting an electric shock everytime, just keep betting in Perth Mailman.

But please, spare your whinges when you get it wrong, because lets be honest, that seems to be every race

Dark target i note u never have anything to offer in reguard to subject put forward u just dribble on with rubbish its funny. As for pratty dont know what u are on about its race 3 we are talking about just because they ran fast in another race latter in day so what.Whats that got to do with the lack of judgement shown in race 3.If anything it shows u on the that track u could run time if u wanted to.
  • Just keeping it up there so a few that have a idea will see it and agree with race 3 then once thats done i will be off.

didn't u look at the race before it was run?

There was no pace anywhere in that field.

Favourite was a moral and duly saluted.

    HAPPY DAYS!!!!
  • Oh ok so because there is no pace on paper we will all just sit back and let them get away with it up front mate do u think if the top jockeys of worlld all thought like that they would be were they are give me a break. Some of the respones in here amaze me.No pace going 48secs for first 800m but 52 secs for first 800 is a joke and shows no judgement come on going that fast u could have taken off at 600 and spent no gas at all get real.

The worlds best jocks rode in the Melbourne cup and they went at a walk for the first 2000m + so whats the differance ?
  • That was 3200m race are u really that silly far out comparing tempo in a 3200m race to a 14oom race what planet are u on.

Mailman I actually want to defend you somewhat around this point, because I enjoy your banter.
Why do the two best jocks here (Harvey & Pike) consistently win more races than others may do?
Because they consistently place their horses in early forward winning positions, and use superior judgement on the levels of pace throughout a race to ensure their in winning positions at the finish. Simple.

I believe that your earlier gripe could perhaps be better directed at some jocks who fail to realise a slow pace eventuating, yet continue to sit back way too far off the speed, hoping to run almost impossible sectionals to figure in the finish.
If a slow pace occurs as per yesterday, then praise the riders who are forward enough to take advantage, and admonish those who fail to improve their positions

mailman i had a look again, and again you are right.
l would not disagree with the brain dead monkey assessment of yours
dunno if that term would be apt for the integrity department that said sweet nothing again, thus confirming what i already know....they DON'T have a clue.
What did bring a little chuckle was a reading of the report....Sky Magic lacked acceleration when getting clear from the 200.

and yet it run home an almost identical time to its last start, but of course there was a nice pace in that race, so it looks like its motoring,
when of course it was just the same as yesterday, even if it does not look like it..
  • careycarey    6,424 posts
and to have my 2 cents worth......
mailman....hang around please, it would not be the same without you.
just give them what you get, and think of the entertainment value for readers such as i.
if being a punter depended on being an expert with punctuation and the english langauge, and no whinging....then i dunno how come i have not had day job for about 35 years.
and according to missus1 there is no bigger whinger on this earth than i.

and just think that when people attack you in a personal way, it's because they can't refute your argument, because they themselves don't have a clue, so they need to resort to other ways.

Certainly warrants some questions--was 2.8 sec slower than the other 1400m race (both RB 74 races) I could alomost break 52 for the 800--even a moderate pace should break 49
