4 of his 5 wins have been on a dead track......the other win on a good but that was back in NZ.
Not sure how hard a G2 in NZ would be compared to Ascot ?

    cheers

He's remarkable has the worst gate of all time and would need nothing short of divine intervention to win. Scratch that, with Mcevoy on, not even divine intervention will save him!!

That jc form was very early in their careers and so pretty misleading. He has form around eraset(which was a good win) and was unlucky FU in a race which was a farce where he was given no hope so its very hard to get a guide on his australian form.

Ortensia a little short for mine.Has sucked punters in before and spat them out at the shorts!I recall C Williams on it one Melb Cup day,was odds on and looked a cert in lesser opposition, but let us down!

remember that was over 1400m, she has been between twice infamously when absolutely unbeatable over 1400m iirc

If they go back to last from gate, shes unbeatable. If she tries to sit in midfield shes a good lay

I was on her that day Dungy, but shes been a money muncher a few times. She is the class horse of the race, but i cant take the shorts. It wasn't the only time she has been a beaten favourite.

Seemed to be very comfortable ridden closer to the lead last start, something Messara has said he has worked on. Based on her first-up effort she looks back to her best - which is way too good for this lot, especially if not spotting them 8-10 lengths at the 400m mark 8)

    how can they do that?
the current place adds up to...3.65...so you can back them all for a place with positive expectation?

Or fill out lots of tix!
No need to include them all either.
Offer valid for that 24 hour period only and includes place component of e/w bets

I like this. The question though is that are there place divvy deductions once final scratchings come through with the EM coming out?

    Guaranteed returns are always good!
  • careycarey    6,424 posts
depending on player scale there would be deductions, but also you would get refunds on those scratchings wouldn't you?

or just wait for morning scratchings.

im sure there must be some catch though, or they would not do it.

nobody is in the business of giving money away that i know of.
  • ericwanduericwandu    544 posts
would the fact that only the each way part is paid change your calcs.

obviously you cant just go back each horse for the place you have to back them all each way.

thats how i understood it worked

    yep, it sure would.

Nope - it says have a fixed odds place bet.
  • ericwanduericwandu    544 posts
    are you sure.

i thought i read the each way portion was paid only

    could be wrong.
  • DarkDark    909 posts
Definitely - its on the player home page.

Is there anyway to check the rules of the market? You could drain a few hundred out of them surely without it ringing any alarm bells due to the size of your bets...
  • DarkDark    909 posts
This will only work for the Winterbottom, the railway is 420%
  • ericwanduericwandu    544 posts
the back page of the paper reads:

"markets are subject to rules of 'refunds & deductions', meaning refunds will be payable on non starters, however, deductions may be taken from winning investments placed prior to scratching of a final field runner. The 'place' component of a fixed odds each way bet is eligible for the special offer'
  • DarkDark    909 posts
Yeah thats different to whats on the Player website.

I just dont trust they wont pull some p1ss weak rule out after the event saying there was an error and all bets are void.

formatting is as crappy as player obviously is.
  • DarkDark    909 posts
It is staggering (yet hardly surprising) that they thought they could just pay down to 4th place without adjusting the market

Now everyone has to cop the 420% even if you were quite happy to have your horse run in the top 3.
  • TheFunksterTheFunkster    3,840 posts
    F_ck!ng sc_mbags!

So either take skinnier odds and bet first 4 the place or take just take (better) tote odds or fixed odds after 12pm tomorrow when betting first 3 again and no doubt they will adjust the market back up.
What a claytons scam of a "promotion".

Everyone should publicise to all and sundry what they have done here. It is no "promotion" at all!
Player once again you have excelled at trying to screw the punter over

Why post that comment when it is widely known that Hay List has suffered a career ending injury in the last few days ??

I don't understand the timing of such comments

If HL was right which he never will be again it would be a no race ,how close would Beach Express get to HL ??? 12-14L maybe on a good day but we will never no will we one thing for sure listening to Moody yesterday morning he wants the great mare BC back in racing Spring time so Barakey might have to go head to head
  • A lot of hay lists early wins were not by big margins and against fairly weak opposition

Barakey looked about 75% fit on Saturday

Hope he does go to melb in the spring, will enjoy cheering for him
