Michelle Parsons "Pink Ladies Day" - Mt Barker

West Australian Racing

Friday 30th - TODAY !

Great racing in the Great Southern today with the Mt Barker meeting being one of emotions for the Parsons family who sponsor 2 races on the card. The Harry, Ivy & Ross Parsons Memorial Maiden Hcp & the Michelle Parsons Memorial Hcp.

Track is good, the weather is cloudy but fine and the racing is gonna be fast, tough and good for the crowd and punters alike.

Hard to pick standouts on todays card but my BB would likely go to Miss Legacy (R4 - Rolling Acres Hcp). After her maiden win on this track she proved it was no fluke when stepped up to the plate and up to the class with a very solid win at the latest Albany meeting. Both wins were over the 1100m distance ... she'll again prove hard to beat.

  • Must agree - looks like a top day of racing at Mt Barker
my BB would be race 3 Haddon Hall with Peter Black aboard

Race 5 is a real quality affair too

Shaun McGruddy to win the Jock Challenge
  • That would be a worthy result for the Parsons, BC ... fingers crossed.

Just a note to everyone from the CRIS website.

All race times have been put back approximately 1 hour due to the cancellation of a flight out of Perth.

Hopefully that is the only delay of the afternoon.

30 minutes between races. This should be standard

The trouble is there are so many meetings, the smaller the race interval, the more clashes there'd be.

  • The Dark Side looks good EW. :D
  • Tough but enjoyable day of racing. Only managed half a winner and actually thought it had lost too.

    Good day.
  • BC is a glass half full man all of a sudden.
  • Certainly not an easy day for punters.

    Out of the meeting -

Doubt muchly that Jordi will ever win a race . . . sorry Hairy.

Desert Oak will play a part in "Great Southern Horse of the Year" ... early days yet I know.

Hussonace - proves that some horses just like the softer going ... nice one to the connections.

Good on the Committee and staff for a top day. Didn't stay for the evening's entertainment (2 bands I hear) ..

... next time may snag some cash :(

I had a bet in 6 races and backed 6 winners!
Race 1, what a weak lot. I only backed Dangerous Diamond as I just couldn't bring myself to back any of the others.
It looked hopeless in running so I took the $18 Butcher's Dream in running as Paps was giving it the gun run. Thank goodness for betting in the run as I couldn't have it on form.
Race 2, I loved the trial of Rasadasc behind the smart Shawaim. First up for the new stable, it was obviously flying and with McIntyre a short priced fave  the $7 was very appealing. This was my biggest bet for the day as it turned out.
    Race 3, no bet.
Race 4, Layed Miss Legacy at $1.77 WTF??????? Specked Speedy Bohemian but only got $8.50 on it on the fair (I was too greedy with my asking price :x )
Race 5, Backed about 5 horses including the winner Demands Attention but threw more on it in the run when it lobbed outside the leader (it's usually with the cap catchers).
Race 6, I took 80's on the fair Hussonace but once again I backed about 5 runners. Hussonace didn't get a crack at them at all and only got beaten 2.8L last start. Dropped 3.5kg too. It was a rough hope and worth throwing my massive $12 on
Race 7, I liked Port Regis but I backed a few savers including Alabameramer.
What a day. I expected nothing and had a day out. The only disappointment was that I didn't take a quaddie. It paid 38k! :x
    Edit.76k!!!!!!!! as I backed both Port Regis and Alabameramer :x :x :x

Rodent how liquid are the in the run markets at Mt Barker? wouldnt have thought many people would get involved especially with you about and BC usually backs the card as well.

Not very liquid but I got $44 on the first winner at $18 in the run, could have got more on but as I said, I didn't really like it but it was the only horse "travelling".
I've made thousands of posts. I reckon there might be just one where I state I've backed the card. It happened at Pinjarra but it doesn't really count if you back more than 1 per race (which I usually do).

Fair enough have never had a go at in the run bit worried about slow internet connections that sort of thing surprised anyone who didnt real know what they were doing would get involved.

My bets are pretty much instant (Cable internet in Sydney). SKY vision is probably half a second behind though so you've got to be careful.
