Really like Harry's Horse to win race 2. Think it has ability and Forrest has cost me too much lately to back her on the other thing. I'm assuming TMH will start way unders too.

Very interesting blinkers off for Rosie Rocket. I'd have thought they worked pretty good the last two starts. Maybe they're not fair dinkum and Warwick doesn't want to push her too much first up from the lengthy one month spell.

would have to fair dinkum fall over to get beat in that.
Silk Force peaked at 1800m last start, Test the Angels cant get out of its own way, Noble Steed not a stayer and will over race, Lovre is hopeless. Did I miss any?

Yes, daylight and the ambulance for 2nd?

Rosie has to be a big chance too - coming off two listed mares wins into a 74+ with only a kilo more than her runaway win on Perth Cup day.

    Fingers crossed.

I admit i rarely follow the form closely in WA anymore but i had a look at the last race and i'm really keen on a quinella with Saytorio/Catlantic - throw in caves road for the trifecta. Both look to have a great chance.

Le sacre/sir hallowell/miss tahitian all seem to have problems, so it could be a good race to bet in.

Definitely overs, thought it would be 1.50. Best bet of the day at 1.90.

Good each way bet on This Means Horse at 7.50, claim for Forrest and the 1000m should suit.

Will have some place money on Hibernian in race 5 at the $11, but I am bias ofcourse.
  • Silent Hero at $26 is a good bet

    HOOPSY?S ASCOT PREVIEW

RACE 1 ? MAGIC MILLIONS INSURANCE HANDICAP 2100M
No. 1 SMART TWISTER. We kick off proceedings with a very weak staying event. (1) SMART TWISTER should be able to find the front, control the terms of the race and simply outstay his rivals. He has a class edge on these. (4) SILK FORCE has never been tested at this trip but he looks the obvious second pick on the strength of his last start placing. (2) NOBLE STEED was too good for his rivals at Albany last start but he?ll probably find this a bit trickier.
    Numbers ? 1, 4, 2, 3

RACE 2 ? SINGAPORE TURF CLUB TROPHY 1000m
No. 3 LORD BALTHAZAR. There should be a solid tempo set in this three-year-old sprint and it will set it up perfectly for the closing burst of (3) LORD BALTHAZAR. His two runs this preparation have both been very good efforts and with the senior jockey, Jason Brown, jumping back aboard, I think he will be very hard to beat. He appeals as one of the better bets of the day. (6) CLASSITHEATRE will go forward and should give a strong kick home. She has been a dominant winner at her last two starts at Esperance. (1) FINAL CUT was a terrific winner fresh when he descended on his rivals and posted an emphatic win. The stumbling block for him is the 60.5kg, not many gallopers win with that type of weight impost! The value runner could be (7) HARRY?S HORSE. He showed enough in his first preparation and his recent barrier trial effort was first class.
    Numbers ? 3, 6, 1, 7

RACE 3 ? PENANG TURF CLUB TROPHY 1000m
No. 6 WILD CHARGER. For a restricted level sprint, this race is chock full of high class gallopers, it is a cracking race. The tricky part about finding the winner is the fact that most of the main chances have shown their best form over further distance. I think a lot will come down to luck in running. I?ve ended up settling on (6) WILD CHARGER. He?s a galloper who is beginning to build up a terrific winning strike rate and he could not have been more impressive first up when he beat a strong field. He?ll get back but should be motoring late. (8) CAVALLO PAZZO is in red hot form and has undeniable winning claims. (3) MABEL GRACE resumes from a spell and has gone well fresh previously. I?m not entirely sure that barrier 1 is the best draw for her as she has a tendency to over race but if she can settle in running, she should finish powerfully. (4) BLACKSMITH is an honest sprinter who resumes from a spell; his recent trial effort was good viewing.
    Numbers ? 6, 8, 3, 4

RACE 4 ? PERAK TURF CLUB TROPHY 1600m
No. 5 PRIME KNOCKOUT. Wow! You could have six picks in this race and still miss the winner; it looks to be a very wide open affair. I?ve ended up settling on (5) PRIME KNOCKOUT who should get the dream run from her inside draw and has Paul Harvey aboard. Her last start effort, when lumping the 59kg and going down by a lip, was terrific and although this is a step up in grade, she will appreciate the weight relief and a softer run. (2) HEAD FOR HEIGHTS is ticking over beautifully at the minute and he should really appreciate the step up to a mile. He was doing his best work late over the 1400m at his most recent outing. (15) SUNDOWN CLOWN is bursting to win a race and he?ll get his chance in this event. He has found the line strongly at all of his three local starts and from his good draw, he should be in a position to pounce on straightening. (8) THE OTHER HARV is looking for this trip and is a value chance for the multiples. A wide open race!
    Numbers ? 5, 2, 15, 8

RACE 5 ?SELNAGOR TURF CLUB TROPHY 1600m
No. 7 BELORA. This looks like a wide open start to the quaddie. (7) BELORA has come back to racing in tremendous form, winning both of his starts despite parking wide at both outings. Barrier 1 might not be the greatest draw for him as he does appear to be a horse that likes to wind up in his races. However, I?ll take the punt that William Pike can extricate him from the fence and into some room to move. (12) MIGHTY ROSSA is a galloper laden with ability but he has been a very frustrating horse for connections and punters over the journey. He had the flashing lights all over him last start when he flooded home into third but I can?t put him on top until he breaks his long run of outs. (1) ROSIE ROCKET returns from a freshen up. Her wins in the two feature mares? races in December were dynamite and if she could find that form, she would be winning. However, fresh off a break and blinkers off, you would think she?ll most likely need the run. (15) BONTIARA was very good last start, lumping 60kg, doing some mid-race work and going down by a lip. She drops to the minimum which she?ll appreciate and she only needs some luck from her draw to be in the finish.
    Numbers ? 7, 12, 1, 15

    RACE 6 ? $100,000 R.M. WILLIAMS ? MAGIC MILLIONS PERTH 3YO TROPHY 1400m
No. 9 NIGHT WAR. We have seen in the last couple of years that when class horses are engaged in this race, they have the measure of their rivals under the set weights scale and I think that this year will be no different. The two best horses in this race are clearly the fillies (9) NIGHT WAR and (10) BLISS STREET and they should be too good for their rivals. I?m happy to be on (9) NIGHT WAR who I thought was terrific last start against the older horses when she was fresh off a seven week break. From her perfect draw, she should land right behind the speed, take the lead on straightening and hopefully have enough in hand to hold on. (10) BLISS STREET is all class and when last in work she raced against the country?s best three-year-old fillies and was more than competitive. She?s first up with no trial but I think she will be the one scorching home late. Of the rest (3) WICKED GAME is a nice horse who should finish strongly and (5) RIOBRESA can fill a hole for the multiples.
    Numbers - 9, 10, 3, 5

    RACE 7 ? $250,000 MAGIC MILLIONS PERTH 2YO CLASSIC 1100m
No. 10 DARLINGTON ABBEY. As is normally the case in these two-year-old features, they should really mow turf early with a host of runners wanting to settle right over the speed. I?m happy to be on (10) DARLINGTON ABBEY on an each way basis. She didn?t beat much on debut at Pinjarra but it was a soft win and she was very green. She should improve sharply on that effort and from barrier 3, she should get a dream run just behind the speed and be ready to pounce on straightening. (1) MIAMI HORROR is a regally bred type who found his best form last start when he zoomed to the front and gave none of his rivals a look in. He might have to work early from his gate but if he can find the front then he will be the one to beat. (9) SPICE AGAIN ran second to the smart Fuddle Dee Duddle on debut and was then luckless at her most recent outing. She?s had a recent trial to tune her up for this assignment. (7) BANTRY BELLE should be the one who is finishing powerfully over the concluding stages.
    Numbers - 10, 1, 9, 7

RACE 8 ?MAGIC MILLIONS PERTH YEARLING SALE HANDICAP 1200m
No. 3 SIR HALLOWELL. We finish the day with a wide open race containing a heap of chances. I?m going for (3) SIR HALLOWELL off the strength of two very good trial performances. We know when this horse is right, he is chock full of class. Paul Harvey takes the mount and hopefully he can extricate him from the fence somewhere in running and he can finish all over the top of his rivals. (4) LE SACRE is flying and is shooting for five straight wins. His last start victory in a $50k feature race at Bunbury was dominant. He?s got definite winning claims. (14) LORD HATRAS returns from a freshen up, he?s a three-year-old who has ability and with only 52kg on his back, I think he has solid each way claims. (15) MISS TAHITIAN is another who returns from a freshen up. She was finding her best form when last in work and with the right run she can play a part. This is a terrific finish to the day.
