Henny Hughes to stand in WA !! Rangeview Stud have today announced that one of the fastest horses in the World has a new home. After serving a solid book each of the last four seasons at Darley Australia, Rangeview Stud have been lucky enough to purchase this two time Group 1 winning Son of Hennessy for the 2012 breeding season. He will arrive shortly just ahead of the upcoming season, where he will stand for $7,700 incl GST. Congratulations to Robbie & Jodie Gray, this is a wonderful acquistion for the WA Breeding ranks.

I purchased a mare last season for Alan Macalister in foal to Excellant Art, with a Henny Hughes filly at foot. I'm told she regularly cleans up the rest of the paddock running around. So like I said, this is a great purchase for WA.

    was an excellent dirt horse over 7 furlongs or less

    I always have reservations over these US stallions who are noted dirt sprinters as they tend to lack the stamina ingredients to pass on to threre progeny

    but lets hope this one does well in WA

    Henny Hughes beat Open class as a 3YO in two Gr 1's. He has had 7 winners from only his first crop to race in Australia.

    Irrespective of dirt or turf, what he is putting on the ground locally are winning at a very pleasing rate, currently 7 from just 16 runners.

    Mostly sand as far as I know Wilson. I sort of wish at this stage she was 'mine' as she is a nice little filly. Who knows how these things turn out ?

    I just think it is a nice acquisition for Rangeview.

    has had more than 16 runners, would only be a pleasing rate if expectations were low

    Now now Damien, everyone is entitled to an opinion.You are quite often.
    eg the photo put up by a forumite and you referred to it as camel. I was a offended for that person, thought it a bit below the belt.

    Ha ha, that 'camel' shot was put up by Kevin Berry. We talk quite a bit about the business and I am sure he laughed at my sense of humnour. I think Tivers would have taken it in that way as well.

    The pity is that positive comments on here are held to ridicule by people who hide behind this forum.

    You may think HH's stats are a bit low but this stallion looks great for our tracks.No they probably don't do as well on Eastern states going so bonus for us.U.S. and Argentenian stallions are ideal for W.A.
    Well done Rangeview and best of luck.This boy looks like he can produce early runners that most probably can handle our tracks....isn't that what you've all been clamouring for.

    Well i dont know who Kevin Berry is or who Tivers is, you name dropper you. Didny realise they were positive comments.
    As for HH, i think it was Warren Radford picked up a cheap one at the MM sales here, and i thought half his luck as HH just had a 2yo winner in QLD.
    So no criticism from me and the price is competitve as well. But was there another Hennesy sire that didnt make it?

    You might be thinking of 1/2 Hennessey who unfortunetly died this year[or last]at an early stage in his career.

    I wondered about the swearing bit; am pleased its not supposed to be on here.
    And it was Helenus i was thinking about and a throw away line from a vet that his sire Helisimo hadnt done much, nothing to do with HH or his breeding.
    Good luck to Rangeview, at least we know he's more or less a 2yo producer. He originally stood at Darley for $27500.

    But how about you do the rest of us a favour and leave each other alone. It's bordering on tiresome the antics that go on between the pair of you.

    You dirt track people are way off the mark MORE THAN READY was a dirt horse maybe the best sire in OZ and the list goes on from there even a bread and butter sire like State City was a dirt horse he has left 30 winners this season
    it depends on the sire and Henny has done very well suprised he even got to WA

    Unlikely any foals here as he stood 2011 season at Darley.

    It is interesting that he is struggling to get a good horse here (in Australia),and that Husson Lightning is doing a better job at throwing 3yos according to the Breednet second year sire stats.

    The end of this racing season will give a clearer picture given he has a large crop of 2 year olds comming through.
