Roving Banker Option

West Australian Racing

Apparently in the next few weeks the WA TAB is introducing the roving banker option to Exactas, Trifectas and First 4's

Does anybody know any more about this?

I had not seen this, very interesting. I need to spend some time looking at bet costs versus % on these. Always good to have more options!

    yeah - for sure
I am not to sure how the bet costs are calculated for the 'roving banker' multiples, so was just trying to see if anyone knows anything about them & how you work out the cost

    Hi jazz h,
What it basically means is this.
Let's say you like a particular horse in a race. You take a trifecta with that horse as a roving banker so that no matter where your horse finishes in the placings you get the trifecta, instead of having to give your favourite number plus all the others you want three times.
It saves a hell of a lot of time, I can assure you of that.

By the way, you can also take up to  3 horses for your roving banker in a first 4. So your three horses must fill one of the four placings with one other you have selected to fill the other.
So you can take 123 as your roving banker, and 45678 to fill one of the other placings. That means that 45678 can win the race run second third or fourth, but only one of those can do that for you to collect, 123 MUST be in the placings or win.

That's about as simple as I can make it.

Cheers Bookielover - seems a good system for those who are into the exotic bet types

Played with these on NSW TAB, and can help return combinations you may not have taken.

IMO, they are no point taking less than two roving bankers - in trifectas you need to have atleast 2 r.b's and in quartets you need to have atleast 3 r.b's, otherwise the return, more times than not, won't cover the outlay.

How do you calculate the number of options for a Roving Banker Trifecta/Quartet?

I was going to post this last night for you Jazz and RIO (before the site went into meltdown)

This calculator will allow you to work out the cost of a roving banker (you will need to select trifecta or first four, then the flexi and roving banker option):

Remember with a roving banker unlike a standard trifecta or quartet, you have your roving banker in every position 1st, 2nd, 3rd (and/or 4th), so you therefore may have 3-4 more combinations than a normal trifecta, but if you cut down on your extra selections, you will generate much better returns.

I used it on TAB NSW and found I actually generated pretty good returns, by concentrating on 2-3 bankers and then just adding 3-4 other selections.

This is great idea especially if you like a roughie to run first 3 easy way to try and get the trifecta.
