R1. Perth Racing Handicap - Gary Wright

The connections of Hennessy Raider have done well here, this horse was a scratching from Sundays postponed meeting, presumably as he had drawn horribly in a tough 1000 metre race, however in this extra race on the programme today he has drawn beautifully in barrier two, and has got to be a big chance to come out victorious here. His first up run was excellent only going down by a long head, and this horse does seem to have a lot of ability, his maiden win over Yaloginda last season was a very good run also. It's A Merc will no doubt give them all something to catch, he will probably lead today over the sprint journey and has been running pretty well in Saturday company racing from the front. The other major chance looks to be Mcblitzam, he returned to form last start two weeks ago notching a victory at the midweek meeting, and will come in a few gates with the scratchings here. Zuccheros completes the main chances, his maiden win here was quite good, and he is certainly a novelty hope in this race.

12. HENNESSY RAIDER - 1. IT'S A MERC - 2. MCBLITZAM

SUGGESTED BET - 12. HENNESSY RAIDER $20 x $20

    R2. Westspeed 3yo Handicap - Gary Wright

A few promising gallopers engaged in this event. Via Laurentina came with a withering burst to win last start, she looks a very good horse in the making. If she can replicate that run, she must be very hard to beat here. She does rise in weight today, thats the only question mark over her, but her last run was so impressive we will back her to win again. This is a good field though and Moet Me has to also be respected, not many punters would have thought he could beat Steel Almighty last start, but he did just that, coming home very nicely that day, you would think the 1400 metres is right up his alley. You cant fault the form of Orable, three wins from three starts. she does rise to weekend city company for the first time here, so it is certainly her biggest test to date, must be at least a place chance today, and Star Of Husson is overdue for a win, she will also be running on at the end of this race.

    2. VIA LAURENTINA - 1. MOET ME - 3. ORABLE

    SUGGESTED BET - 2. VIA LAURENTINA $20 x $20

    R3. Westspeed 3yo Handicap - Gary Wright

There are certainly a few promising three year olds engaged here, but we do have a large field and as such a few of them are drawn quite poorly at the 1000 metre start. One of those is certainly Flying Zoe, her first up run was very impressive when second to De Jersey, she was very unlucky that day, it was a very good first up run since she last started in the Karrakatta Plate. She is the selection to win this race here, but with a question mark as the barrier isnt a good one at all, she may be trapped wide from out there. Bangkok Express looks a good type for the Simon Miller stable, he has drawn a lot better than Flying Zoe, and will definately improve with racing, look for him to be about the place at the finish today. Rougeau won very nicely at Belmont at his first race start, another that should improve with more race experience, and one at odds might be the stablemate of Bangkok Express in Castle Keep, she has gone well in trials and looks to have ability.

    1. FLYING ZOE - 6. BANGKOK EXPRESS - 3. ROUGEAU

R4. Westspeed Stayers\' Bonus Handicap - Gary Wright

Ora Dare looks a promising stayer in the making, he has come on in leaps and bounds since winning a 2200 metre maiden at Northam back on August 15. He has since won again twice and goes for four on the trot today. His last start win in the Apprentices Cup was a very good one, defeating Battle Ace that day. Battle Ace came out the next midweek meeting and won very easily so the form line is there for Ora Dare today. Hopefully he doesnt get too far back in the big field here, and can run over the top of this field in the straight. Battle Ace does appear to be the main danger, these two horses are developing a bit of a rivalry in stayers ranks, meeting for the third time this afternoon, Battle Ace is going very well, will he be able to turn the tables today on Ora Dare remains to be seen. State Form looks the other main chance here, he has got good consistent form and is ready for the 2000 metres at his fourth start this preparation. One at good odds may be Maussane, he won well at his second start in the state at Northam, and had won two races previously interstate.

    5. ORA DARE - 13. BATTLE ACE - 7. STATE FORM

    SUGGESTED BET - 5. ORA DARE $30

    R5. Www.tabtouch.com.au Handicap - Gary Wright

One of the most impressive wins of the winter season at Belmont was put in by On The Ropes at his last start. Any doubts about how good this horse could be were quickly dispelled when he romped away to a four length victory, and he beat subsequent winner Toppers Halo that afternoon as well. He rises to the mile here but really shouldnt have too much trouble in winning once again, he does look to have a very bright future in WA racing. The form of Sail Maker at the midweeks has been most impressive, chalking up a hat trick of victories. Obviously this is his biggest challenge to date, he looks like he will measure up to weekend company and looks a good place chance here, pity he has to run into such a good horse on his weekend debut. The Alleged is one of the iron horses of the winter, but also one of the most consistent, he must be considered again here, certainly for the novelties. Suribachi was a good winner last start as well, another with good place prospects here, but it appears they may be racing for the minor money in this race.

    12. ON THE ROPES - 7. SAIL MAKER - 1. THE ALLEGED

SUGGESTED BET - 12. ON THE ROPES $60

    R6. Tabtouch.mobi Handicap - Gary Wright

A terrific race here with quite a few of these entrants specialists over the 1000 metre dash. The first up win of Modello was excellent, he has to be a chance to make it two from two this campaign today. He has won four from seven over this distance, and three of those have come at Belmont, seems he loves this track. The deciding factor may be the claim for Ellie Cockram, Modello carries 54.5kgs today. In contrast Tiger Pete may lay claims to being the best horse in the race, but he must carry 59kgs, maybe that will just be a mountain too high here. He got into trouble last start behind Modello, probably fair to say he wasnt ridden the best that day, with McGruddy back on board he should be given every chance but just may have to settle for a minor placing here. Rouge Dior returns today. another with a great record at the 1000 metres, she may have been a little disappointing last campaign but does go very well fresh and should be considered at her first start back here. Military Secret hasnt put a hoof wrong lately, and its really only the quality of this field that sees him as the fourth selection today.

    3. MODELLO - 1. TIGER PETE - 2. ROUGE DIOR

    SUGGESTED BET - 3. MODELLO $25 x $25

R7. Tabtouch \'we\'ve Upped The Game\' Handicap - Gary Wright

Sireeze seems to have come back really well, his first two runs have been full of merit and he looks close to recapturing the form of last campaign, when he hit form he did so with a vengeance. He has drawn beautifully today in barrier four and appears he will either start favorite or very close in this race, and the on top selection here. This is a good field once again though, including So Symbolic who won very nicely at his first start in the state, he was well supported that day and didnt let them down, up 2kgs today but still looks a big chance in this. New Time has a good record indeed over the Belmont 1300 metres and should run another good race today, he has only been unplaced once over this distance. Rafferty should improve on his first up run for a year here on Aug 31 also.

    11. SIREEZE - 8. SO SYMBOLIC - 2. NEW TIME

    SUGGESTED BET - 11. SIREEZE $30 x $30

R8. Ausdrill Handicap - Gary Wright

This race has changed complection with the withdrawal of Helena Miss, she probably scooted across and lead this race, now its not easy to see who will lead them up here, although you would think there will still be some speed on with the big field. Double Jester is one of the most improved horses going around at present, since winning her maiden a few starts ago she has continued in very consistent form, and looks a good chance here once again to carry only 53.5kgs. Third start back from a short spell today, she should be steaming home in this race. Another that has been racing extremely well is Need A Lift, in fact he is going for five on the bounce here today, another that normally charges home from the back of the field, he has got to be considered again today. Passion Cantata represents the class here, has been racing quite consistently, look for a good showing from this mare in this race, and Blackwall Reach could be at nice each way odds today, a place chance in this race.

    8. DOUBLE JESTER - 5. NEED A LIFT - 2. PASSION CANTATA

    SUGGESTED BET - 8. DOUBLE JESTER $20 x $20

R9. Crown Perth Handicap - Gary Wright

A good type in Terror Force returns this afternoon, he was one of the better two year olds from last season, winning the Perth Stakes and running pretty good races in the Karrakatta and Sires Produce. Hopefully he is forward enough to run really well first up today, if so he looks the best horse in this race and should go very close to winning. His win in the Perth Stakes was a beauty, and showed he has heaps of ability, and whilst there are still a couple of good ones against him today, its doubtful they are up to Terror Force's class. A good barrier and regular jockey Jarrad Noske on board are also pointers to a good showing here. Soaring Lad has been racing in wonderful form and looms as the big danger here, he put in a good run behind Little Shadow last start, and that followed on from two wins on the trot. Outlaw Blues is another showing great form at present, he ran second in Little Shadows race last start, but he meets Soaring Lad worse at the weights here today though. Not A Single Drop has developed into a very consistent horse, and is one for first four punters in this race.

    11. TERROR FORCE - 3. SOARING LAD - 5. OUTLAW BLUES

    SUGGESTED BET - 11. TERROR FORCE $30

Im expecting some frenzied betting today as we've had nothing to bet on for weeks. Today's fields are Saturday quality and we'll race on a decent track and the sun is out! Add to that, we all did the form on Saturday...so we should be clued up!  :-c

Some of the scratchings are a bit off putting..but the starvation of local betting opportunites will ensure i blindly get on a few..

Good luck to everyone..One roughie for the day..if it is still in Recode..oh hang on make that two roughies Hale Boy also...both should be good e/w odds...
