Rules bypassed because of the mighty dollar

So Tres Bleu and Dunaden have both had treatments this morning which is not allowed, but are allowed to run???
I'm tipping it would cost the TABs money, therefore revenue, therefore the stewards have said it's at the lower end of the scale so it's all hunky dory? #-o
The dollar wins.
Plus, if the treatments aren't advantageous to the horses, then why give them?

    Rules seem pretty clear cut to me. But stewards can use their discretionary powers and in their opinion all was ok but still though...........

    Dunadens handler was told to STOP giving the treatment for stomach ulcers but went ahead anyway. Would seem strange that "stomach ulcers" were only detected on the morning of the race. And for Gai, it was "human error" as her "horsebreaker" was unaware of the rules and applied an "anti-biotic ointment". How much hands on involvement does she have on race mornings in between being fitted up with the fascinator?

    The rules are crystal clear - no treatment on race day. Would Harold Blogg's horse be allowed to start if it had been treated prior to a minor race?  Nope!!!!!! This sort of stuff where there is Stewards discretion is what leaves the door open to all sorts of unnecessary innuendo and speculation.

    both should have been scratched..If people handling horses on race days dont know the rules then the trainers shoudl be hit with hefty fines and horse scratched. The rulke doesn't only apply to cup day

    the days is worth millions and they dont have experienced handlers for the horses???????...cmon.

     

    Begs the question of what they do on a normal race day

    The rules have been broken but the rules don`t state automatic withdrawal.

    Whether you think its right or wrong, stewards have discretion to scratch or allow the horse to run.

    It is no different to the suspected treatment of Happy Trails prior to the Turnball Stakes which he won. What will be interesting to see is whether these 2 trainers receive 6 months like Paul Beshara did.

    Agree totally and if treatment is requested it would probably have been granted..But to have people that were not up to speed with what is and isn't allowed on race day (any race day) is the problem..that is why they have the rule..Supposedly one was asked to stop and continued even though told not too...

    So they have run, done nothing...how long for each trainer??? It would have to be 6 months wouldn't it??

    He was scratched before the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes (not the Turnbull), was not treated before the Turnbull.

    I agree it is a farce - the question is not whether horses are treated the morning of a race - but how many aren't treated the morning of a race?

    Security guards should be advised to physically step in and restrain the strapper on the deck with substance before administration until a phone call is made to stewards only way to stop them they are blatantly ignoring rules.

    Both trainers charged under rule 172 (administration of treatment on race day) - hearings on Friday.

    Last thing we need is physical altercation happening in horse stables, leave it up to the stewards!

    The fact that 24 horses had 24 security guards and two of them were treated on race morning - just makes me ask, do any trainers actually follow the rules 100% of the time?
