Wednesday is going to take some work if you don't want to drop down the ladder. I would bet the guys up the top of the tipping comp will give it a big miss.

    I cant find one for the whole program that I am confident in Wiz..Will have another look later this arvo. But at this rate I'm not sure I'll be having a punt tomorrow!!! :-O

    races 2 and 3 are now 1650 metre events.
    puts them that much closer to the bend, so barriers more important?   and 13 runners still safe?

    why do they have 1650m races on Wednesdays but on Saturday they are all 1600? :-w

    they are either 1650 or 1700, because when the rail is out a fair way as it always is midweek, it shortens the distance to the first bend, so i guess it's a safety thing.
    as the rail is out 18m it would normally be a 1700m race, but it's now 1650 because of a wet spot apparently.
    so surely safety becomes an issue now?

    and of course when the rails are out it increases the circumference of the track, so the gates are usually moved forward to compensate and keep the distances correct.
    the problem at the 1600 at belmont is that it's already close to a bend, so it would be impracticable to move the gates forward, so instead the distance of the race is increased.

    You would not believe how wide in went in the last leg of the quaddie in Kal on sunday, some huge results but the fav got up last leg! So pissed off!!!
