From that statement I'd be suggesting that you have never been to an AGM?? if you every ask a curly question there the response - well the few times I've gone this is the response I've had - is one of two. They will look into it and get back to you...or.....That this isn't the right forum for that type of discussion.

Also being elected onto the board is of no use to anyone.. A new board member is only 1 against many. Anyone who has served on any elected committee knows that the only way to have significant change is for a chairman to stand down at the same time that 2 or more (in committees like this that have 8 members) new committee members get on board, or a coupe takes place..

And as with other committee members who are on already it'd be a waste of time for many who contribute to this site to go on...as they already have "things" in their life that make them busy....

You need committee members who have the time and passion to dedicate to good governance.. The majority of our committee members don't have the time for the major cultural change that I feel the club needs. There fore if they have limited time they can only do so much...and who would want to spend that limited time arguing with other committee members????? To me that sort of explains why there appears to be a lot of yes people on the committee!!

I, for one, thought years ago when you came out guns blazing at the commitee, you might have a go at getting elected, to make a differance. Do you think you've made a differance on the outside?

Does it seem like more is being acheived with the government on board? Mind you still talking heads syndrome and racing might not like what the government does.

At the very least all replays should be made available free of charge to those with a WATAB/OZBET/TABTOUCH account.

The form guide on the betting site should have a link to each horses name whereas you can see replays - similar to the way punters.com.au was set up.

Make it clear that the replays are being provided specifically for those that are wagering on TabTouch.

It wouldn't be too hard to knock up a small script that checks a users use of the replays service and compares it to the number of times they are wagering on WA races through TabTouch.

Those that are using the replays and betting elsewhere have the replays privilege removed from their account.

:-? After all, isn't the idea to promote wagering on WA racing through TabTouch?

It just highlights the stupidity of the last few years here. To charge people a premium for delivering a product that is available elsewhere for free is just a recipe for disaster. To then have private rooms at the racetrack that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to renovate for a premium private membership, only to see them under utilised only compounded the first stupid idea.

First sat I've had off for over a month, I'm set to camp in front of the TV. Obviously with the decent media coverage I have a decent handle on the melb form but I've got no idea about the local form at the moment. I thought this morning I would get up and use this new free service to do some form for Perth as well as Melb however with this not being available now I will turn my attention to Syd as my second meeting.

I'm not going to pay to see replays when like the last month I might only have time to use them one weekend out of the four. I would however have turned over somewhere around $500 and my money is in my TAB acc as I have noticed there prices have gotten a lot more competitive lately and if I'm going to play the novelties I will always go the TAB.

So $500 take out say 15% is $75 they could get out of me if the replays were free today instead they charge for replays which I wont buy and then I don't bet so they don't get my rake!

It really isn't rocket science.

C'mon guys, it's really hard to upload a video onto Youtube...that must be the reason!

Upload all Trials and Race replays in date order and sit back, pay no bandwidth charges and collect the (albeit) small advertising revenue. Seems a win-win situation so larger amount of people can see the product and therefore more people invest at little to no cost to PR!

I hope that if they do the smart thing and get the WA racing product out there for free, they go to mp4 so that those with less than great connection speeds can download the files and watch them properly. I hate watching jerky replays.

I've always done the right thing, paid my subscription and not shared it with anyone but when they tried protecting the content by using the latest viostream player, it just gave me the $hit$ because it just downgraded my experience.

You may not be able to download race files any more but you can still record them. If it can be seen, it can be recorded! Once it has been recorded, it can be changed to any file format.

At the end of the day, with just about every jurisdiction offering free video, WA better not sit on its hands for long because the clock is ticking.

Just as I switched to WA racing 25 years ago because I was able to get vision (I stopped betting on eastern states racing at that time which is my local), how many sandgropers will gravitate to the east where they can get all the replays in a superior format for free? Once you lose them, it is very hard to get them back.

With the new coverage on free to air Seven Mate of most the big meetings any casual punters at home will just bet on the carnivals needs to be as easy as possible to do the form and have a punt.
