Smoking Joe any day the boy can use the wip and can win from behind the girl is only good on front runners .
Lucy is dead set hopless with the stick watched the replay of Satans Dancer from last Sat she nearly falls out of the saddle when she tries to wip is one part of her riding that she needs to get better Joe for me by the length of the straight

Jockeys will have to find out how to win without the whip shortly , anyone watch Catalyst on Ch 2 last night the whip is on the way out .

Wouldn't go that far, they tried to stay pretty neutral about it although they were siding with all the tree huggers and animal lovers. Fair to say that the abc is now banned in my household until they run a story on how much care, time and expense goes into looking after a racehorse. They are a broken fucking record and im sick of watching it. .

I doubt banning the whip would have any effect on Horse Racing. Good horses and jocks would still win, crap horses and jocks would still run last.

The rules they currently have in place are so arbitrary, there enforcement is inconsistent & confusing.

The sooner they get rid of the whip the better IMHO

Did you get those figures from RWWA somewhere TRK?? Were was young Jake on the list?

Lucy is coming along nicely...the more time she gets in the saddle the more she will fill in those gaps in her ability

They are from RISA(before today's provincial meeting). Jake's doing ok,especially when you consider his metropolitan strike rate(12%). Peter Hall's recent run of form is also reflected in the stats-he's three wins out of fifth place with an impressive S/R of 16% http://www.risa.com.au/FreeServices/Premierships.aspx?State=WA&Season=2014&Table=Metro+Jockey

Smokin Joey all the way. Lucy needs to come back to earth. From what I've seen the ego is taking over.

King of Wu is making Jake's stats look a bit better. 3 rides for 3 wins.

Only one of those wins is a city win, though. In the metropolitan premiership he's half a win behind Pat Carbery, despite having 109 fewer rides.

I was probably the first to spruke Azzopardi on here but frankly those rides (bar the winning one obviously) on Saxy Grace have muted my enthusiasm.

Give him a break Slip....you have to ride to instructions if your to keep the mount....
    ;) ;) ;)

I declared his talent long before he teamed up with Durrant and to his credit and unlike a few others before him he is making the most of his opportunity.

I should clarify that I don't include Paterson in those that took the Durrant partnership for granted. For me Paterson deserves more opportunities than he gets.

Paterson is indeed a bloody good rider. How he gets overlooked for people like Brad Parnhamis beyond me. It shows that ability doesn't come into it and there are other forces at work.

How he gets overlooked ahead of many other jockeys is a mystery.

Going to be hard for Lucy, the wheels have fallen off at Dad's. started the season at 100mph, only a couple of winners since Xmas. Must be a reason

Going to melb at that stage of her career was a mistake. it's done but she will survive. Much harder without the claim.
I remember when we 1st claimed on Trading Day, I asked John Claite who was the best claiming apprentice in WA, "Azzopardi" he said in a flash. Put it to my late father and he said Johnny teaches them he should know we will put him on. Houdini had kittens when told we were claiming, swearing on the phone and carrying on like a kid who had his bat n ball taken off him. When they claim you use the apprentice in form it's not rocket science

Just had a look at Trading Day's record when ridden by a claiming apprentice. 2 wins and a 2nd from 3 starts.   I'm not counting the ridiculous decision by stewards to take the race off him when Dittman rode it.
     Not bad.

Lucy is the best female rider WA has produced, she just isn't strong enough at the minute. Horse that dont get n the bit she is fine, but if she has to ride one that can hang on she is in trouble. J A has no plan B, he gets instructions and rides to them at all costs. There has to be a plan B sometimes IMHO
