I thought Williams was meant to be a rock at the back??? That penalty was shocking, the attacker was never going to get near the ball before the keeper but Williams would never know that because he only had eyes to take out the man.
Tonight is just the second time that Melbourne Victory have lost an A-League match after leading at H/T.
They were leading Sydney FC 1-0 at H/T, but ended up going down 2-1. In A-League history, Victory have been in front 99 times at H/T (80 wins, 17 draws and 2 losses).
On the other side, Sydney FC have now won 5/5 this season to go 5 points clear at the top of the table. Glory can go to equal second with a win against the Wanderers at nib Stadium, 4pm tomorrow.
Glory will have to wait at least another week. Phoenix won 3-0. Victory had nothing to play for having already securing second spot and a week off in the first week of the finals.
Glory qualified for the finals with a 3-1 win over the Roar at nib Stadium last night and in the process have moved up to fifth. City and Roar are three points ahead of Glory with one game to go.
To host a final in the first week of the finals, Glory would either need to beat City by four goals to overtake them on goal difference, or they would need to beat City and then hope the Roar lose by enough goals against the Phoenix to overtake them on goal difference. Both scenarios would appear to be highly unlikely.
Comments
have gone thru the squad with a fine tooth comb. One thing they have - depth!
This is the year for Glory. Keeping everyone injury free is the key but their squad has depth all over. Go glory!!!
SBS will be broadcasting the Friday night games on FTA this season on SBS2 (Ch 32), otherwise you can watch all the games on Foxtel.

I backed them to lead at ht and draw ft at $17. At 3-0 I thought it was all over but they're a club that knows how to capitulate
