I'm very saddened to hear of the passing of Geoff. I think fondly of the time I first met Darrah at the PTT day a few years back. Both sharing a love of Neil Young we struck up an immediate friendship. Little did I know that would be the first at last time I would share a drink with him. My condolences to friends, family and the racing community. I know he will be sorely missed.

    Where the vulture glides descending
    On an asphalt highway bending
    Thru libraries and museums,
    galaxies and stars
Down the windy halls of friendship
To the rose clipped by the bullwhip
    The motel of lost companions
Waits with heated pool and bar.

But me I'm not stopping there,
Got my own row left to hoe
    Just another line
    in the field of time
    When the thrasher comes,
I'll be stuck in the sun
    Like the dinosaurs in shrines
But I'll know the time has come
    To give what's mine.

Just got a new computer and literally loaded PTT & Grassroots on to my desktop. Pop into the PTT Forum and am immediately saddened to read the news about Darrah. Not long after I joined PTT he was the one that guided me regarding uploading photos to the forum. I appreciated his photos, comments and selections and I will miss his contributions.

I never met you in person Darrah but thanks for your company on the Forum and may you rest in peace.

I had the privilege of meeting Geoff quite a few times. He never had a bad word about anyone. He celebrated with us when Absolute Pleasure won, so it makes the memory of that day that little bit more fonder.
He was a true gentleman, and he'll be missed.
    RIP Geoff,
    Kerrin

Geoff at his best.. a true blues brother at Chloes 21st

    image

I will never forget when you scoped me out on this forum 4 years ago welcoming me with open arms thinking i was Chloes brother, and then supported her efforts to the extent that everyone got sick of it :D
We then met shortly after and you were instantly welcomed into our family. You were telling me all about starting your own website and we sat around the computer with a few beers and designed your first grassroots logo, it was good to see it take off .
You have had a bit of a rough trot, with your health and when your dear mother died to which i dont think you ever recovered, and it is comforting knowing that you are now back together.
You leave behind a huge following of friends and family that know you as the gentleman you are.
You will be sadly missed and never forgotten
Cheers to you Mate! :abeer: R.I.P

People with real passion for the racing industry are rare.

This gentleman obviously had that quality in spades.

    May he rest in peace.

A very sad day for all. I was only talking to Geoff at Pinny's last meeting had no idea he was in ill health. RIP Geoff thanks for your contributions not only to this site but also to your own GrassRoots site & for your passionate contribution to the industry as a whole.
