Anyone's thoughts?

I thought over racing early cost him dearly. If he settled, might have been a different story.
Neville apparently reported he is still not fit.

Agree, he overraced early and got his head up in the air for the first 600-800m or so of the trip. Caught wide and drifted back in the field - all that said, was a very good run to finish where he did. Is certainly up to Group 1 level over there. Just needs a few things to go his way and he'll crack a G1 over east!

Agree he did over race but the excuses are seriously starting to add.

I honestly thought he would be competitive in the Cox plate a month ago but not so much now

After racing awkwardly up the hill at caulfield and was 3 wide the entire at his first time around and had the temerity to hold onto 5th was better than it looked. And as neville said his grand final is not till cox plate day he will be better at the valley where he can run with the camber.
Will wait until the Yalumba and see how he measures up on the 2nd time around caulfield. It is not an easy track many good and great horses have been unable to get the chocolates.
  • I think he has a good kick on him, but its only for about 150m, Personally I think he would be better off in 1400 to 1600 races like the Toorak or the Emirates
