Check my offer on a photobook for Christmas, but you have to be quick. I need to order by the end of the month, and each book is custom made in layout and content.

They make a great gift for anyone who is a fan of Racing in Perth.

    what is it exactly damien?

Anything you want Diva that is bound as a photobook. I will be putting together a highlights of the year book, but if an individual owner wanted their stable of runners highlighted I can do that as well.

One forum member has asked that his horse goes on the cover of a highlights book.

So I am open to a few ideas, just so long as I have the image. But time is the problem, this 30% off deal only goes until the end of the month. That makes this exercise on average about $65. I am not adding a margin, it is just the printing cost from Snapfish and mailing direct from them to you.

It is a load of work for me, so as soon as I have several to do, I am pulling the plug.

Della, as a guess $65 covers postage, it is a hardcover with your horse or whatever you want on the cover, then 25 to 30 pages of high quality photo printing inside. I'm not planning on putting text in them. It is a coffee table book of photo's, whatever you want. I am not making a profit out of this venture, it is just my good nature to provide to owners and racing yards, some nice photo's of their stock.

Try buying a single photo of your horse, then come back to me. Either way, my phone is ringing off the hook this morning. You suit yourself I'm too busy.

Based on this calendar year only, anyone who is interested, can you chuck me some names of racehorses that you would rank in say the top 30 in WA that have raced at Ascot or Belmont. I just want to make sure I don't miss out on worthy horses going into my variety photo book.

    Fire away ...............
  • DamienWyerDamienWyer    7,984 posts
Slight change in plans ............ the book is currently sitting on 80 pages including 227 images, with a couple of feature races to be added from the last week. It is in a A4 landscape design with Barakey on the cover. Several pages are either on a single jockey or trainer or horse. Other themes are similar shots and angles, yet more on photoshop effects etc. Something for everyone as they say.

Due to the Ascot Carnival being so close, I have decided to delay the final publishing until after the Kingston Town. This should see the final product at somewhere between 90 - 100 pages and 250 photo's approx. However it will still be in time for Christmas.

This will however push the price to around $130. I can understand if people think that is a bit steep, but the genie is out of the bottle now. As I have stated before, I am not charging a margin for this project. You can check pricing on the Officeworks website to verify if you wish.

For those who have given me lists of specific horses or trainers, those books will be minimal versions and be at the $60 plus postage level as they include the first 30 pages in the minimum order.

OK let me know if you would like to own a copy.

    Cheers,

    Damien

Whilst there are several images of horses in the cerise and white colours of the Peters family, it is more a tribute to the riders involved.

This concept has grown yet again.........

As previously mentioned on this page, I am about to publish in time for Christmas, my 2011 images of Racing Yearbook, no text just photo's. With just a couple of weeks to go until the conclusion of the Perth Carnival, I am nearing the end of production of the book. Currently there are 114 pages with just over 300 images. Features include pages dedicated to Jockeys including Noske, Miller, Pike, Ha...rvey, O'Donnell, Knuckey, Turner, Carbery, Brown, McCallum, Chatfield, and Forrest. However dozens are featured throughout the book. Trainers get a run as well including Parnham, Gangemi, Simon Miller, Morton, Taylor and those owned by RJ Peters. Several horses get special treatment including Barakey, Like An Eagle, Lucky Gray and Playing God.

The only way to purchase this book is by individual order, as each will be printed to order only. It is in a hardcover with Barakey featured on the cover, and in a A4 landscape format (21cm x 30cm). I anticipate that is will cost around $160 plus postage if applicable. This is production cost only, no margin is being charged.

To order send me a private message or email to [email protected] or you can call me on 0411 227 222.

Cheers Radman, my website is averaging some big numbers. Over 5,000 page views in the last week. Approaching 7,000 images of WA Racing from 2011 on there to see. Here is Saturday's gallery:

As previously mentioned on this page, I am about to publish in time for Christmas, my 2011 images of Racing Yearbook, no text just photo's. Now that the carnival has concluded, no further images will be added. There are 170 pages with just over 420 images. Features include pages dedicated to Jockeys including Noske, Miller, Pike, Harvey, O'Donnell, Knuckey, Turner, Carbery, Brown, McCallum, Chatfield, and Forrest. However dozens are featured throughout the book. Trainers get a run as well including Parnham, Gangemi, Simon Miller, Morton, Taylor and those owned by RJ Peters. Several horses get special treatment including Barakey, Like An Eagle, and both Group 1 winners Luckygray and Playing God.

The only way to purchase this book is by individual order, as each will be printed to order only. It is in a hardcover with Luckygray or Barakey featured on the cover (you choose), and in a A4 landscape format (21cm x 30cm). The cost is $200 plus postage if applicable. This is production cost only, no margin is being charged.
Being this close to Christmas I need to order this week to be assured of delivery by the 25th. If you have previously indicated a wish to purchase one of these books, could you please send me a PM or call me to confirm to final pricing.
Also, if you are looking for a single piece to hang on the wall in a wrap around canvas (my personal choice) Snapfish have a sale on for the next week @ 40% retail pricing. Please consider the size of the wall you are going to hang it on when ordering. During this offer you should be able to order something that looks good in the office or home for less than $100.

To order send me a private message or email to [email protected] or you can call me on 0411 227 222.

A 30cm x 40cm poster order just came in for a local Trainer of her horse, and I took advantage of the specials and ordered one for myself as well. Glad I did as they are stunning, and for less than $10 !! Getting it mounted might add a bit of cost though.

Can't say who it is as it will spoil the surprise !!

Do you pay for use of this advertising space? Seems you don't make 2 posts without trying to sell something.

Cookie, you can contact Matt Rigby directly if you wish and he will confirm that I don't charge a margin on any of my photographic offers. In fact I am happy if you take the original file directly to someone like Officeworks or Snapfish, and have whatever you want printed or mounted and you pay for it over the counter. There is nothing in this venture about me making a margin of profit.

As far as me paying for space, I supply any or all images you see on this forum. Also for several other forums and print media outlets. None are charged for this service. I don't know how I can make this any clearer to readers of this forum, most seem to know what work I do for Racing in WA. Photography for me at this stage is a driving passion. Yes I use it in the successful promotion of Stallions and Studs, but it costs me considerable time and money to make this all happen. Hosting an almost 7,000 image website in the UK alone is almost $1,000 per year.

So please don't question my motives or whatever deal I am on. Believe me when I say that I am carrying the can financially for all of this.
