    Great run , bad luck Kempy, both WA horses appear destined for good preparations if their respective performances are any indication, the Eagle managed to find some trouble at various stages in the run otherwise it gets the money.

    Rest In Peace Like An Eagle. So much ahead of him. Such a talented horse. Im quite upset at the moment. I dont like seeing horses go down, but when its a WA horse - just sad stuff.

    My thoughts are with the owners and other connections. I also hope Ollie is ok too.

    Looked everywhere in this morning's West for a report on Like An Eagle and Damian and guess what - not a bloody word. The race was run three hours before the inters grand final and yet that got a half page. It doesn't really surprise me because the West is not a patch on what it was. Oh I forgot, I live in 35 minutes from the city and perhaps I got the the country edition.

    Wouldn't matter what edition you got you want find anything in The West!!! Not even an update on their website :x

    Was just about to post about this. Why do we need to see this pic as the main pic on the page. Upsetting at best, doubt the industry needs this and showing the horse mid fall is disrespectful and not called for. And while I am here, great report on the jockey, but let's have something about the horse, his record etc, seems they forgot a beautiful animal died in horrible circumstances

    i'll probably get howled down here...but you often see pics of horses falling, it is a common practice.
    just because the horse is "one of ours" there is no reason to get holier than thou.

    having said that it was tragic and lets hope the horse did not suffer for any length of time. the Good Lord was looking after damien.
    my heart goes out to the connections.

    One of ours is probably about right mate....i get heart broken just watching Black Caviar belting Haylist...
