The first thing I noticed was that "The Fish" has snagged (pardon the pun  ) a very good pick up ride on board reimbursement. It was a last start winner of the Mungrup sprint and has a sensational 2nd up record. I know it's a rise in class but it looks like the horse may well represent good each way value on Saturday.

The only thing it may have going against it is dropping back to 1200m.

Bloody great field be a brave man calling anything a special in this race if Maschino is near his top and close to them at the corner look out but will probably be doing his best work late

Interesting to look at black george in this. 55kg.... Might find life very tough now after copping his 21 points for the Hannans win.

I was  ing about this when the acceptances came out yesterday Dungy.

Obviously Kyra Yuill is committed to riding Maschino for her dad but if say for example Maschino was trained by a different trainer I wonder which horse Kyra would consider has the best chance of winning out of him and Reimbursement? It must have felt a bit ackward for her having to jump off a last start winner.

Aside from the father/daughter thing, you wouldn't get off Maschino for quids. Even if you thought it had absolutely none in this, imagine hopping off and watching it zoom down the outer and win . . . may never get back on. It's got X factor

i think maschino should be able to stay out of trouble there and let rip if he can find 3 wide with cover and his class get on

I agree with you DS. Even if Saturdays race isn't quite suitable for Maschino there's bound to be bigger fish to fry later on in his preperation.

agree, gotta stick with maschino, got the weight pull on every horse thats any danger, and an ideal gate to drop out and have a clear run
if it can run home 33.88 for 1600, cant wait to see if it can go any better for 1200!!!
