There is very little between them on paper but I am leaning towards Resetgold mainly because of the barrier draw. Rose is not a noted on speed runner so barrier 1 could make things tricky for her. I can see RSG getting a lovely run from barrier 4 maybe sitting just off the speed from likes of Pillowtime and Kim Classic and getting a nice cart up into the race from around the 600 or a tad closer.

Tough little race...wouldn't be surprised to see the winner come from the rest...Barrier does nothing to help Rose unfortunately...but at a glance she'd get my money before RSG
  • Rose should just be to good

Having been back through the replays, the impression I have come to is that Rose is a sprinting mare that is very well suited at this distance, but even better over a shorter 1000M. Resetgold however really is starting to warm up at 1200M but best suited past that in distance. As she is first up and Rose is race fit, I think Rose may come out on top this race.

Having said that, I don't think she has met any quality opposition and if she does happen to beat Resetgold, it will be just this once. I doubt that they will meet too many more times anyway as mentioned before, I think they are two different types of racing animals.

Win, lose or draw, both of these mares are lovely horses to watch race.

Even Astar would be a danger if it ever finds the form it had in its first campaign.

Player must have taken a $5 bet on Rose and $10 on Resetgold.

Markets went off for 10minutes and came back
    Rose $3.00 into $2.50
    Resetgold $3.50 into $2.80

    Extremely unlucky
But i don't know why it didnt start going wide around the bend, instead waiting for the straight :/

Rose nearly fell, but was awesome late, but just gave way too much start!

Don't think Richie Bell saw her nearly fall.

Still trying to work out how it got beat. Looked like she made the decision not to look for a run on the inside yet couldn't get to the outside in time. Should win plenty going on that performance.

Barrier 1 for a backmarker was always going to be a tough run. But was a good thing beat in the end.

She went 10x better than Resetgold though!

Yes LL, she clipped the heels of Silver Omen.

I think Kyra should have persevered trying to push to the outside just after straightening, rather than go to the inside of the horse in front, one of those split second decisions which just didn't go her way. Flew home, very classy mare.

She'll be shorter next time now.

I like here and she has been good for my wallet at times but for all the winners she rides she carves up plenty. Hasn't got the ability to think two plays ahead at the moment, always goes for the first option when back in the field and 9 times out of 10 it's been the wrong move.

fair go boys. she looks like being #1 jock for the all powerful peters/williams team, and they are very hard taskmasters.

obviously you guys are just angry that you didnt back her in the Perth cup or the mungrup sprint. takes some ability to win those races lads!
  • auzzieauzzie    92 posts
Dosnt help wen u have a massive bet on it at the opening price and I backed her in the cup at double figures I still don't forgive her

unlucky mate, rose from barier one was not the best of bets!
  • auzzieauzzie    92 posts
The barrier wasn't that bad from were she was on the corner if she went straight out wide she would of won instead goin on inside of others goin up the arse of others then goin wide and beaten a nk or somthing oh well no point complaining c next start better luck

would be a different story if another jockey was on though wouldnt it!
  • RIORIO    14,902 posts
Could've been..they may never have got to that position in the first place.....But then again if they were there they may have made a different decision...

Great horse, who will make up for it, but taking it inside wasn't correct and wasn't how the horse had won in the past runs.

Blind Freddy could if rode it up the straight hahah will win heaps if stays sound
