Can someone answer this for me Why is Dueton so much a better race horse than any other Due Sasso horses? Could be a whole lot of things but the dam really did nothing 18 st 11 thousand in stakes and her dam 15 thousand.

I did notice that and proceeded to leave it out of all my novelties bets even though Damo talked it up!!!

I have a nice one and I know of another nice Due Sasso still to run both 3yo's I'll let you know there names after they win. ;)

ours was from a good winning mare, had good size and great shape and a really winning attitude, as a 4yr old we got sick of it not quite making it to trial!!! hahahaha

But there does appear to be more coming through now as 3-4yr olds..if we had persevered ours would be about 6 now...from the first season crop.

Yep both really nice horses to look at would say above average size, average pedigrees at best.....

maybe its becuse the sires name is wrong...should be due sassi....two stones OR uno sasso...one stone.

I picked up a cheap weanling last year, she is definitely above average size and looks like a nice type. But she is very highly strung!! I have heard of a few that hate you putting on a bridle/halter and am told due sasso himself was exactly the same.

Every stallion gets 1 good one. But 1 isn't enough. I have one that has made a promising show horse for my wife. I can't tell you if he is high strung because I can't catch the mongrel.

I don't think you could blame the Stallion. He was poorly bred to begin with, having only the most minimal score with Scenic over Century, and again with Sadler's Wells over Century. Neither of these scores would prompt me to even buy a yearling with this breeding, let alone a Group 3 Stallion prospect. He should have raced as a gelding, he would have had more success most likely.

The fact that he has risen to now throw a stakes winner is nothing short of miraculous. I hope he enjoys his retirement.

The number of yearlings purchased for very reasonable to high money here in Perth, only showed that a lot of buyers thought his stock at least presented well. So in that respect for some period of time he was doing the job.

You see, my wife had copped a nasty head clash with a colt and had her jaw broken so i have had no one to argue with these last few weeks, and being a grumpy old man i had to release somewhere... As far as DS is concerned, you had a punt and this one has fallen short, you are the type of guy who wont give a second thought about DS. So.... is he for sale?

sorry mate like a lot of first generation aussies i know very little italian! Some great italian names are used for horses tho. My fav is definitely Schillaci named after the italian striker at the 1990 football world cup. The horse certainly did him justice and is probably my first real memory of racing. Being a grey made him stand out even more and just like that i was hooked! He was an ultra impressive horse!! Also Cavallo Pazzo for perth fans translates to "crazy horse" (i know that one)... Crazy horse is also the name of a niteclub owned by some mobsters in the Sopranos... Not sure if the horse really was crazy or if the owners are fans of the sopranos!
