Thought I'd keep you guys in the loop as it's your first dog and I wish you all luck.

Crash's mothers second litter has just started racing with one sister having now had 3 starts for 3 wins in NSW and his other sister how had little luck first start at Mandurah won her next start last week by 3 lengths and was backed off the map just before the boxes opened $7 into $2.90.

The third litter are just starting pre training and should be on the track in a couple of months.

My My Machine has now produced a 100% runners to winners ratio and the Collision litter are by far the best bred with Collision still standing as the number one sire in Australia.

Thanks for the wrap CPL. The whole process to date has been really good. You and Mrs CPL have helped us novice dog owners more than you'd normally expect to....and i have a feeling that will keep on happening for a while yet!!

All 8 equal members are either PTT posters or friends and wives of PTT posters. So in essence this will be a PTT dog. Along with the updates of how well My My Machines litters are going, well also keep updates of how the dog is progressing.

We are all first time dog owners (well one of us had a dog or two back in the 80's, but none this century!!) but we are all involved in either thoroughbreds, trotters or pigeons currently...

we tried falcon, but everyone is fully booked...we eventually got a spot on the east coast as recommended by most.....CPL even had to point us in the right direction for that!!!! poor buggers, probably wishing they had given the dog away free to a good home!!!!

No not at all I want to see you guys succeed :)

The sister that has won her first 3 starts in NSW is owned by first time owners, the Mann family.

Her race name is MANN SHES FAST :)

I was contacted and asked if I had any left from your pups litter but I had nothing left to give.

It's just a cheaper and quicker way to get into racing and trust me one minute he's a pup next you know he's racing.

I just got transport organised for a mare $1750
For my dog it's $200 and he's flying Quantas :)

Here's an article on CRASHS older sister who was having her fourth start but unfortunately got into a tangle out of the boxes.

CRASHS other sister NARDA won last night at Mandurah in a slick 17.23.

A few happy punters after unloading on fixed odds.

She trialed at Cannington a few days ago and was impressive after a bad fall in front of her last week ended her chances of a clean run.

CRASHS older brother SURF RUNNER had a long lay off and returned to racing last night with a solid second.

He's come back lengths better then ever and will be aimed at a 600m race at Cannington in the new few weeks.

woohoo...thanks CPL...That bitch of yours is really throwing out some great results.

Crash himself is now running up a significant bill whilst he runs around the yards of his Newcastle rearer.
  • CPLCPL    632 posts
Lol they do that but before you can blink there bloody racing and go around week after week and NO monthly bills :)

    Is the dog named Crash?
  • RIORIO    14,902 posts
no...just its kennel name.....not named yet. The dogs CPL are talking about as sisters, aren't litter sisters and brothers...but are all out of the same bitch My My Machine...who is doing a god job with majority to track from litters and as from above getting a few that know how to earn.. 8-10 months to go for Crash to get to the track

How much did the dog cost and what are the running costs? Most trainers go free? but wants 50% of prizemoney. I guess based on that it's costing nothing so far?

wish it was that simple...3k for the pup and 5-6k to get it ready for the trainer.(8-10 months care)....then 50/50 if the trainer thinks it can win for them..
  • CPLCPL    632 posts
Some trainers will take $100 a week and 15%
I like the 50/50 deal and it's not hard to get a few dogs racing around the same time and no bills coming in.

I actually thought it was cheaper than that. I have to save up alot more pennies then.

Good luck with it all. Hopefully after I save a few pretty pennies I can join in the fun too.

we've deliberately gone the high/expensive road as we didn't want to try to cut any corners with the first one we had. I'm positive you can buy cheaper pups and send them to a cheaper rearer, breakers and pre-trainers. But by buying a well bred pup we decided to give it a prep where we shouldn't have any obvious excuses if it fails....apart from it cant chase!!!

We ended up with 8 equal shares at 1k each...all paid up front and one drongo doing all the running around for the other 7 lazy slack arses!!!!!
    ;) :D :-)) B-)

50/50 deal is the only way to go. We bought our first for $1500 in the same litter as Mandingo and sold for $20k so we've had a bit of luck

Good luck with your dog it's a lot of fun.

okay I find the pups so easy to find from the greyhound site, so when you hear of a good producer you can look up all her progeny pretty easily.. You nearly have to be a genius to get the same info for the horses.. although maybe it is on breed net??!?!?! Never thought to look there.will check later.

Tayza is a nice bitch and doing a great job at stud and she wasn't to shabby on the track either ;)

I heard that the Champion Dashing Corsair has developed cancer and only has weeks to live which is terrible at a young age.

He won't be forgotten as I've bought a straw and it's my next mating.

RISA are good if you have the names of the broodmares progeny, so is Racing Victoria. But when you want to know what eh mare has produced I cant seem to find that info on RISA. I get in on Stud book via a subscription, but not on any of the fee to use sites like the doggies do.

I've just played around on RISA Tony and cant find that sort of info - for free - anywhere?!?!?!
