Lagertha rated on top, hasn't raced yet, comes off the back of 3 poor trials and one respectable one and you've got it on top @carey i'm assuming the trainer/jockey combo has a fair bit to do with it being so high up the ratings

if there is no info for a particular factor hash, it just uses a default number. what those defaults are i forget!
trials are a big part of it for races like that(r1), so it must have had one at least that the computer thought was ok. but i have no idea myself if it has or not
but probably the least important thing in the lower grades of a race is usually the HORSE!! so yes, trainer and rider are big factors, and i am guessing the computer would put more weight on them than the horse, especially if it has no exposed form.
i don't know how it would assess pike and parnham, so can't second guess that. that is fluid, and changes as i press the button to update rider info after each meeting is added to data
but if you think horse 'a' is going to win, then i would take notice of what the IBM!!! says, and just go with your own opinion.
