Punters Club and tipping comps will always generate interest and discussion

it was proven on Saturday on another form of social media that I created (haven't seen you post in a while)

by syndicate, do you mean a syndicate of owners in a horse!?
  • jumjum    3,581 posts

I still think it is a great concept....and if you don't throw it open for everyone, it doesn't have the same effect.....We've got another nice pup being raised on the east Coast...If it scrubs up okay - and Mrs RIO lets me, we may throw a 20% share of that up for grabs..But it is only about 10 months old now, so close to a year away from the track...We expect it to be a 500+ dog

Not sure but i think there was a thread a while ago that stated what horse u own and when it was racing etc as like a heads up to the group sort of thing. good to know who has what coming up so we can all cheer it home. Sort of like how falc runs his dogs thread.

Disclaimer - we are not asking for the inside word to knock off the price for owners/trainer.
No negative comments ie "its a cat/milk drinker"

Then again, these rules may be hard for some to follow

yeah i liked that one para....may see if i can find it...as i know heaps of people on here own horses...some are part of syndicates and want to keep mum on everything.....so maybe they just post the day of the race..

Unless you own 100% of the horse yourself might get you offside with the other owners putting it out there on a public forum. Also know a few trainers who are of the opinion they do all the work owners pay all the bills so why as you say Para say anything and next thing the price goes

If your share in the horse generates less prize money for winning, than you can earn on the punt...then you really shouldn't be posting it as a horse you own!!! ;-)

In saying that not to many people I know or are in horses with can afford full ownership anyway.
  • careycarey    6,424 posts
I'm quiet because i finally was able to break my habit, so i have no interest in  wa racing.
the handicapping review is about the only thing that intersts me because I want to see if anything happens from it.
but this forum is not alone, it's probably a world wide thing.

@carey You may be on the mark there. The humble forum will struggle to thrive in a world where every tom, dick and harriet has their own blog/podcast. That doesn't leave a lot of free content worth reading/hearing/watching

Mich like your tipping ay mate

***Said very tongue and cheek*** O:-)

I know one that owns all his horses (not mentioned above) and he's not your typical owner that drinks and punts like the big names, humble quiet achiever at it's best

and a mate of mine that has 100% in a couple of his own but majority of his horses he owns 25-50% still a fair chunk by anyone's book

if you take the time to look hard enough in the racebooks it's right there in front of you and you'd be surprised

Does ours have a name yet Bomber ??? :D
  • hashhash    7,495 posts
eg. tomorrow race 2 Bardsey, 1 owner (and the trainer) Sideways Sid (same race) and Roll With The Goodtimes all owned by 1 person according to the racebook

  • spinkingspinking    4,001 posts

Of course you will find  a couple if you look  .What I am suggesting is it would be more the norm that the majority of horse ownership and a big part of that majority don't have single owners. The owner trainer situation is another whole thing altogether , A lot of owner trainers I would suspect would not be full time erring towards the edge of hobby trainers. The race book can also be misleading in that some people for different reasons do not want there name in the ownership , even though they own a % of the horse

ok then, my other one still applies though

not my place to drop names but he owns 100% of all of them and has all his horses with the one trainer (based in Pinjarra)
