Arcadia Queen will be sold at the May28th Magic Millions broodmare sale on the Gold Coast.

Bob Peters said he the decision was "very tough" and is not too popular with much of his family for the decision

whats  the auctioneers % these days.

i know a stud will buy AQ but if she shows she not ready for motherhood could they pass her to a trainer for another prospective racing prep?

Once they own her Falcon and have her papers. They can do whatever they want with her

What do they get if Celebrity Queen got 2.5?

I reckon Coolmore might go after her as well.....

Good luck whoever buys her. Probably been pumped with everything under the sun to get her right

so true Vincent. the roads to stud farms are littered with great mares who are duds in the breeding barn. without going back too far, black cavier and makybe diva spring to mind.

I would suggest many star mares like you mention are freaks rather than from Triple A blood lines (Black Caviar excepted as that family is littered with stars).  I’d be pretty confident Arcadia Queen will definitely throw some with ability but no more likely than the full sisters/half relations etc that Bob has plenty of so can see why he’s taking the huge check for her.

Big question will be who goes for more, Arcadia Queen or Mellody Belle.

    we'll see, precision...or i hope we will.... [-O<

some fools (and i say it in a "nice" way), paid 4.2mio for sunline...they must be stark raving mad, on the other hand some other poor fool will pay a zillion for her first foal and maybe her second but if they are flops off sunline goes to some equestrian school.

The Sunline you speak of is actually Sunlight.

The “some fools” you also speak of who purchased Sunlight would be the breeding leviathan Coolmore. Fair to say with their record, fools isn’t a way I’d describe them.

Bob turns 80 this year so maybe it is time to look ahead. He doesn't race them as 2 year olds and usually not till mid to late 3 year olds. Maybe it is time to scale down a bit and good luck for his future. He started from nothing and built his empire to what it is today.

He’s a businessman first, and selling her for what she will sell for us good business.

A.Q. See the reserve was 4mil.--- the australian highest  priced mare sold was Millanova  by  Danehill in 2008  for 5 MIL. Coolmore  the buyer   her  first three foals were fence posts.

2006 foal  Stoika won maiden in tasmania
2007 foal  Pretty Flamingo-- never raced
2008 foal  Evole  best was 2nd at kyneton.

hard to see why 5mil. was paid for  Millanova   had 28 starts 3wins 1 Listed win 1 group 3 win in south australia-- probably a rollie back.somewhere

She was exported to Ireland feb.2009.

Has had 12 foals now for 3 winners .
Like how they ramp them up  when  in april 2016  Pretty Perfect won a listed race giving Millanova her first stakes winner.  '''Heading 5 million mare making her mark'''

Bob will get His 4 MIL.

Yep, Bob has always wanted to produce girls to keep his operation going.  Think if he send her to a meeting with Galileo he’ll be wanting a boy.
