They are going to have to do something about that % of theirs too.
Melbourne were horrible on the weekend, so maybe they will open their a/c, what you reckon Della, chance?
Watts would want to start showing something this year...
We'll be certainties after getting flogged by Collingwood this week then. Load up now !!!
Think you may find the Hawks are pretty darn smart............
Apart from Pies the next best teams would be Cats, Dons, Freo and maybe Swans.
Yeah, yeah, all u non-Freo supporters will think I am biased, but if they kicked straighter against the Cats they would be undefeated. Plus still have Barlow, Hayden, Mzungu and Silvagni all to come back into their best 22. And I didn't mention Ibbotson as I don't think he will be in their best 22.
They should start favourites in all their matches up until Rd 11, so could very well be 8 wins 1 loss at that stage. 2nd half the season a bit tougher, but should still finish top 4
We should have won that game, but we are a below average side so no surprises there, we have improved though from last year and the kids are playing with some hunger, so we should finish out of the bottom 4 IMO if we have a decent run with injuries.
I have stated on here numerous times what I think of Worsfold as a coach.
Pace 7, #2
Can only remember one of Goodes last quarter goals as I was pretty pissed on Friday night and haven't finished watching the tv replay, but I'm guessing both goals came from playing as a midfielder (unless one of those goals included the one where he gave Brown a little push in the back).
The problem Selwood and most people have tagging Goodes in the midfield is his breakaway acceleration and strength once he's on the move, in open play he is just so damaging with that combination of speed and strength, similar to what NicNat will hopefully become in a couple of years time once he develops his game.
And yes, our clearances are a problem, not so much the quantity, rather the quality, i.e. run and carry clearance work, which is why NicNat has been used on the ball at times when Cox is rucking.
Priddis isn't damaging with his clearance work, but will become more effective if we can develop some run and carry players to get on the end of his work, something we continue not to draft.
Kerr is just too slow these days, needs another month of football and not too sure where and how he should be played these days because the moment he gets the ball he has three blokes hanging off him. They obviously still want him to be an in and under clearance player but not sure what that is worth these days, if he can get fit, he should be running and spreading from the clearance rather than in and under, so he can beat his opponents on the move in space 1 on 1.
Shuey is going to be our most damaging player at stoppages soon enough, but we need a couple more.
For the record I reckon Adam Selwood goes ok and on Worsfold, two wins and a close loss to a good side isnt a bad start to the year, particularly given we're missing our best forward.
I may have said I didnt think we would win the spoon early last year, not sure? But I'm sure I said we wouldnt win the spoon this year with even luck with injuries when Della's recruiting mate said WC were a monty for bottom 2 (about the same time he said Gold Coast were a good bet for the eight). Might be an early crow but I hope he recruits better than he tips!
Showing Richoesque type tendancies - although he does kick straight.
It'll wear thin on the faithful unless he pulls his head in.
(for a VERY juicy trade of course)
Reidwoldt for Goddard ??? :)
Maybe not Shonen though... :P
As for your NicNat suggestion I am not even going to bother with a logical response.
Your ideas are original alright, they are also stupid.
One thing that does shit me is that a lot of footy players don't seem to be able to read the play well or don't use there brains a lot. The Matt Rosa incident made me furious here we are pumping the ball constantly into the forward 50 putting enourmous pressure on the swans without result the ball comes out of the swans defensive 50 and is going towards the wing area with very few players in the forward half for Sydney and Rosa running into the contest with Jetta who is clearly going to out run him so grab him by the shirt and flatten him give away the free and give your team mates a chance to get back into there defensive half and slow the game down. But in Rosa's wisdom he thinks he can chase down Jetta just to see him fly past him and Hurn and kick a jammy but team lifting goal !!!!!
Preferred course of action - a good belting from a couple of the boys behind the sheds whilst Dimma reads the riot act to him.
Who would we take ?
Well first suggestion would be Pav, but too old (comparitively) so pass.
Hill ? Fyfe ? - not really proven enough yet.
Who else ?
