Working on it gents, geez, you've picked a tough night. Saw on one site that Mr Nickel, a renowned feline, is tipped to salute......and also Kiwi Legend.....both on my banned for life list but may have to consider a reinstatement given the opposition. Thinking The Revolution can run a race and it should be worth going along to watch Bettor's Fire I think.....as good a looking type as you will see and has been in cherry ripe form. And....there are a few drawn in barrier 10 that warrant a look.

Smokey the bandit finds his right race. If he cant beat those then it will be time to abandon the inters campaign once and for all.

Swimbetweentheflags best longshot with A C Lewis jumping in the cart for the first time. Horse and driver love the stand starts.

Race 7 Courage Tells is $9 a place with one of the corporates...Richard Bell tips to run 3rd...agree...big chance to be 3 back the pegs.. Hot pots Elegant Christian and Bettors Fire up front This Time Dylan just behind them with Courage Tells on his back. Still has the job ahead of him to sneak 3rd but $9 is irresistible.

In that race noticed there is very early just over 2k in the place pool...all on Elegant Christian and Bettors Fire.. both now returning money back $1 the place. Possibly saying Bettors Fire leading..Elegant Christian trailing...should run 1, 2.
  • OffthebitOffthebit    617 posts
Elegant Christian is $1.30 in most of the early markets. If he hands up to bettors fire the punters will tear the grandstand down. (All 10 them)

I thinks Bettors can cross Elegant Christian...he never had much gate speed when he was with the Halls but Dalton has improved that aspect but still don't think he can hold Bettors who can explode from the gate. If they go crackers up front and Copagrin gets any sort of soft run at 50/1, a schekel or two e/w on him.
Ohoka Assasin Race 3, Bounty Eyre Race 5, Ideal Justice e/w in race 6 and Pay Me Cullen race 8 if he steps. If you have any thing left in the bank by Race 10, leave it there and go buy a flat white. Don't fancy getting out of jail in a trotters race.
Good luck gents, all care, no responsibility.

Remarkable sitting on Kiwis Legends back that he held up @$2.20...was very strong place money on Tact Major from the 2 gate - $1.70. And a very good run from the Major too.

Bounty Eyre $10.90 well done JJ.

@Offthebit and JJ in scorching white hot form. Lewis in front on Swimbetweentheflags was all over after 50 metres @$6 too. How many times has he won with that type of drive on 5 to $8 chances?! Time after time after time.

Some nights are good....and some nights are better. Ohoka Assasin and Bounty Eyre provide the "play money", I have my 4x16 Copagrin, more on hope than anything else, then I can't believe my eyes $4.60 Bettors fixed, so, yes please, Ill have an,unusually for me, decent bite at that and then Elegant Christian goes for a gallop....could anything more go right. After that, retire to sitting in front of the fire ...its a brisk night down South, forecast to be a frost but I am feeling warm. Hope the boys jumped on board. Bettors is a treat to watch when he is racing like he is.

$7 on Betfair JayJay an over reaction to the Elegant Christian support.

Obviously EC missing the start was not in the equation but they finished too far apart in the market.

Good to see Libertybelle Midfrew run on too. Good ole Copagrin...Woodley and Shannon Suvaljko into the placings on a couple of bolters. Our Ideal Act sitting outside Bettors also a tip top effort to run 4th.

The first race was good. Speed and action. Second and third where pathetic and imbarassing with lead times that co class would beat and no action and no moves. Even a 33.5 quarter. Funny that in race 3 numbers 1,3 nomed for inters and 10 hardest to beat. Yet 2.01 mile rate. Maybe handicapper trying to get 1,3 qualified. Would love to see real random draw. They prob get beat.
Another vinnie gallops. Prob always going too. What was s McDonald doing?? Wanted the lead then handed up to worst form horse in state. Gone at 600. Real bad drive.
Then bettors fire went super again. Good too see. Great run again coppergrin. So under rated. Then another fav gallops after elegant Christian and too finish good old enjoy a coldie wins. Been such a consistent Trotter.
Maybe gp needs to be go for a bigger track. The racing very predictable in most races

The real problem is RBD races where on this case the best four horses drew the best barriers in Kiwi Legend's race.

If it was a preferential barrier draw they would have all drawn wide and race on.
  • AtthepalmsAtthepalms    11 posts
Always a funny coincidence though the draws. Especially last night in race 3 as said

Mick Granthams ability to rate and then lift Typhoon Tan over the line..first rate...also got Smokey into a perfect position from the 12 gate...and when got the three wide cart up on the back of Bungalow Bill..it was game over. This driver is in the peak of form.

The first four dividend Swimbetweentheflags...Lewis factor barrier 1...Lively Shard to get the sit barrier 2... Run 1st and 3rd...first four over 8k..plus part carryover..Mighty Maravu off difficult 20 metres just $2.40 goodness gracious. Again Chris Lewis is part of the biggest dividend of the night.

No report from Diva or Chris from their sortie to the Red Hots...either at home counting the cash or they have jumped off the top of the Ledger Stand, hopefully the former. Don't know if you've dined upstairs but the revamp of the Beau Rivage and the Radiant Oro room for members and the very reasonable prices for food that is above average make, from my point of view, for a pretty good night out. Hopefully, a positive experience for them.

This time Abby and Offthebit won't defend the Diamond Geezer drive. Rate him highly as a driver but seems to be driving the Geezer with no thoughts of winning. Just saying. Thought Arglyle Red was home too when bolting in the 3 wide line. Next start! Copagrin was a perfect drive.

Hey riders I'm a massive Woodley fan but that drive that Abbysace pointed out at pinj didn't look great. He had to drive it in a similar patten last night otherwise it would have looked pretty bad. Although he did drive argyle red in complete contrast to his previous drive on that horse and it nearly paid off.

On a more positive note God bless AC Lewis, the best standing start driver the state has ever seen. That drive on Swimbetweentheflags was clinical and it just paid for another bottle of top shelf Shiraz to go into my wine cabinet. Thank you Chris. ^:)^

I can't help but have a little dig at Ryan Warwick. He said in an interview when talking about that race that they used to train Swimbetweentheflags and he can miss away at the start at times. He said he will do his best to avoid running into the back of him at the start. He certainly did avoid him at the start.......and for the entire race!!

Don't worry VK..you had been in excellent form... I remember having $100 a place on the 8 races at Richmond Raceway one night....end result lost 800! You wouldn't think it possible. But managed it. :-j

Talking of place betting still amazed Ohoka Assasin on Kiwi Legends back held up at $2.20 a place on the tote...at one stage on fixed odds was $1.08 and sp was $1.18.

They went very slowly but impressed with Tact Major last night...could Kiwi Legend sit outside him and beat him home ? Maybe not. Confident Tact Major will win some more races.

38 sec lead time followed by a 62 half....Kiwi, who looked very well, just strolled home with a 27 last quarter which was trackwork. Drew 1, well handled by S.J.S and if he was ever going to win a race, this was it. But I reckon the Kiwi is miles off Interdominion class...I know others have a much higher opinion of him than I do, and for the owners sake, who paid plenty for him, I hope I am wrong. Also. Liberty Belle a much better run....Reeds horses are travelling for Shannon at the moment.
