Follow the Adelaide trots a bit ( love my trots ). Know most of their drives fairly well...here's a rundown.
    Chris Lewis.
Race 1. Solanum Dulcamara big chance from the one draw. A bit of a grinder if can hold the lead will be extremely hard to run down.
Race 2. Ace To Play battler hard from the draw place hope.
Race 3. Downtown Levi big chance difficult gate but has good ability this bloke.
Race 4. Sheza Westburn Jewel has good gate speed , helped her to win a couple of very weak races. She's not much good..perhaps a rough place chance but needs enormous luck.
Race 5. Hilltop Sophia she's got a big hope even from the poor draw. If the breaks go her way can win.
Race 6. Mallee Trapper a trotter and a battling one rough place chance if things go his way.
Race 7. Kamwood Dawn goes ok should lead or be behind the leader. Big hope.
Race 8. Machtwister...even field..there not much chop...can possess gate speed...if gets a good drive can be right in it. Not wrapped in him but he's a chance for sure.
Race 10. Tendaho...needs a lot of Lewis magic.

    Junior.
Race 1. Finedropofred...goes around everywhere this guy..Mildura to Swan Hill to Globe Derby had about 160 starts...just a battler but can run the occasional good race not out of it.
Race 2. Ashkii goes ok place chance for sure.
Race 3. Broadway Harry another battler place hope.
Race 4. Big Shot Bob one of the main contenders. No world beater but a good chance.
Race 5. Missy Murdock she's very limited will be very surprised if he can get her into the money.
Race 6. Bee A Lassie if trots away ok will be super hard to beat.
Race 7. Arambi Star a battler too but try's very hard and if they go hard will run on. A definite place chance and probably at odds.
Race 8. Zedaguy good gate speed a big chance to lead and a definite contender in an even race.

Red letter night at Globe Derby for SA owners with all 10 races worth $8,000......the norm is often $2.5k ......but if this series spikes a bit of interest, then good on them. Often, it is hard to spot a living human in attendance on the replays other than the drivers, the mobile driver and the clerk of course. That said, any drivers championship without G.Lang and C.Alford lacks some credibility. No Hall Snr runners at Bunbury tonight on what is a pretty skinny meeting, so Jnr in the right place at GDP

They didn't run last night in South Australia so a little more depth tonight. One of their better programs. Will be competitive anyway.

No worries Cisco..just a rough guide..Lewis best drives are in race 1, 3, 5 and 7. Juniors best in races 1, 2, 4, and 6. Both have a each way chance in race 8 too. Place chances the other races and a couple have little hope.

I think some of them will improve for Hally - he will certainly put them in the race at some stage -which is all a punter asks of any driver

Junior  jumped on Major Presley - who had atrocious form - and it never looked like losing at Narrogin - and then he drove that thing at Pinjarra in the stand race at about 40-1 and it won like a 3s on pop

If Junior wasnt driving his fathers horses - i think he is one of the few  WA drivers( Lewis and Shannon S  as well ) who could go over to Menangle as freelance drivers and perform very well and make a good living

No cigar for Jnr...if you don't count the ex Snr horse Big Spook winning the last....but 2 seconds, two 3rds and a 4th on some very very ordinary conveyances is a top effort. Lewis drove some even worse ones.

Meanwhile, over at Menangle, Lennytheshark did a bit of trackwork to lead a procession....ambled around in front and then home in 25.8,,,,needless to say, nothing took any ground off him in the run home but he still shifts out in the run to the wire.....still, he has always done that.

Had a few dollars on Big Spook thinking he could do exactly what he did so happy days at globe derby.

I can tell you boys I went there about 18 months ago and you are dead right about it being hard to spot someone, my Mrs family is from there, her brother is in his mid twenties and I think if you asked his friends 99.9% would have no idea what trots even are let alone the fact that they happen on a sat night.

We went there for dinner and I kid you not it was downstairs with absolutely no view of the track, it was diabolical. I love trots, I love a punt but I was embarrassed to be there with the family like what the hell do they think I do for kicks!

Different note but can anyone tell me if Matty White is a full time harness trainer/driver, seems rare to see him in fields now days and horses that were his no longer with him.

Heard a rumour Matty White was leaving the game in the next few months to follow his girlfriends profession. It would be yet another sad loss to the industry if he leaves......

Absolutely. I like at guys like him, Ryan Bell and Kade Howson who have had a crack at going out on there own and are no longer doing it.

Big stables tie up owners and promise them the  world. Hard to get established in a game where there are many spruikers. Not so much loyalty these days. Hope they make it back. the game needs them......

Didnt realise Jnr. ran a place on Missy Murdock @$14 the drum. Then the next race gallops out on the $2 favourite...Globe Derby can be a bit like that...difficult betting proposition at the best of times.

You could possibly name 10 or 12 of the best trainers in the the game are now either not training,or gone to the gallops..a blight in the game in my opinion

F.Kersley (and family), J.Warwick (and family) and G.Williams are 3 handy ones to start with......I think G.Hall Snr, Jesse Moore and even Bill Horn have gallops licenses (dual code), plus dozens of others......been happening for decades with blokes like Ian Garrow and co switching codes.
