    Stewards Report:

Race 5 – TABTOUCH WA PACING CUP (G1)

CHICAGO BULL (G. Hall Jnr) – Driver G. Hall Jnr was fined $500 under
R156(2)(a) for using his whip in more than a flicking motion.

Stewards concluded the inquiry into Driver E. Suvaljko’s driving of
MIRACLE MOOSE over the concluding stages.  Ms Suvaljko subsequently
pleaded guilty to a charge under R162(1)(z) for failing tofully
drive MIRACLE MOOSE out until the end of the race, that being
approximately the final 15m when making a celebratory gesture with the
whip.  Ms Suvaljko was subsequently suspended from driving in races for a
period of 21 days which will commence at the conclusion of her current
suspension being from midnight 17 February until midnight 10 March
2022.  When considering penalty, Stewards took into account Ms
Suvaljko’s guilty plea, her prior good record under the rule, her level
of experience being a  Junior Driver, the Group 1 status of the event
where increased tariffs do apply, and further that Stewards could not be
fully satisfied that her actions in not driving MIRACLE MOOSE out fully
had affected the result of the race to the required standard, however,
similarly it could also not be positively determined that her actions in
not driving the gelding out fully over the final 15 metres did not
affect its finishing position and consequently no mitigation was applied
    in this regard.

Further, the adjourned inquiry into the interference suffered by
MIGHTY CONQUEROR (C. Brown) over the final stages was concluded.  Driver
    C. Suvaljko (WILDWEST) pleaded guilty to a charge of causing
interference under R163(1)(a)(iii) for allowing WILDWEST to shift
inwards causing contact to the near hind leg of MIGHTY CONQUEROR which
subsequently broke gait.  Mr Suvaljko had his reinsperson’s licence
suspended for a period of 21 days commencing from midnight 8 February
until midnight 1 March 2022 and was also fined the sum of $2000.  When
considering penalty Stewards considered his guilty plea, prior good
record under the rule, the nature of the race being a Group 1 event
where increased tariffs are applied, the degree of his error being
mid/high level as he allowed WILDWEST to shift into a position where
there was insufficient room and also the degree of interference involved
where one runner was interfered with causing it to break gait and that
    he won the event.

I think jnr should have got more than a $500 fine for his driving over the last 200m on Bully.

Not saying he doesn’t love the horse, not saying he isn’t a great driver, not saying it is a repeat problem with him but that type of action in the states biggest race was not a pretty look, it’s not the 1970s anymore.
