I know it's drawn the river but Dr Indy was a massive run last start. $10 seems overs to me

Be good to have a tipping competition for the 2011/2012 season where people are only allowed 1 selection per each weekend.

3 pts for a win, 2 pts for a second, 1 pt for third, -1 pt for unplacing. Pts also given for the final ozbet.com price of the horse 1 pt for price starting with $1.xx, 2pts for horses starting $2.xx, 3pts for horses starting with $3.xx, $4pts for horses starting with $4.xx etc etc etc.

Story from The West during the week:

One ride on The Underworld was enough to convince top jockey William Pike to choose the highly-rated three-year-old over several other mounts in Saturday's $80,000 Belmont Guineas (1600m).

Pike has won recently on top Guineas contenders Proud Hero, Sweet Serenity and Like An Eagle, but elected to stick with The Underworld in a strong pointer to his claims.

The premiership-leading hoop jumped on The Underworld for the first time when he stormed home from well back to defeat Kneedeep by a length over 1400m a fortnight ago.

Trainer Chris Gangemi said he had a huge opinion on The Underworld, who drew barrier three yesterday.

He is by boom stallion High Chapparal, the sire of So You Think, out of the unraced mare Rune.

"We've had a big wrap on him since day one," Gangemi said. "He had a few big runs but then went a bit flat.

"Last start he showed he was getting back towards his best and I'm really happy with him on his work this last week.

"I think he's going to be a pretty good horse and with no bad luck, he'll be in the finish."

Gangemi's second-string Guineas contender, Private O'Dea, will be ridden by in-form apprentice Campbell McCallum from the inside gate.

The O'Reilly gelding was a gutsy 1400m winner at Belmont last month before two luckless performances.

"He's up in class but won't disgrace himself, that's for sure," Gangemi said.

Peter Knuckey will ride Cavallo Pazzo, whose chances were dealt a blow when he drew barrier 12. The son of Not A Single Doubt burst on to the scene with three consecutive Ascot wins in April.

"He's drawn a bit wide, but I'm hoping he runs well," trainer Ted Martinovich said.

GN looks $1.50 chance to me. The $2.35 being offered by Player is huge.

Somebody mentioned before its record at 1600m isn't very good. Take a look at its last 2 1600m races - both 4ths in the last 2 Railway Stakes.

That along with the weights and the small field makes it the biggest moral I've ever seen. Jeuney & KKK should ensure its a truly run race - load up. Will start $1.80 best on tote.

Race won't be run like its past two runs. IMO will start 2.60-2.80, unders atm

Has wrong profile to be the price it is

I took the $10 when player first went up. There was no $16 bet. So it's $10 into $5.50. Don't believe the flucs on Dynamicodds - they register prices that were never live.

can confirm that there was definitely bets accepted at $16
  • looks like we may not get much rain today - radar has the front missing perth :P

I've been doing wet track form with the promise of storms & tempests.
Keep coming back to Battle Emblem in the big one...

I think i said GN 1600 m record was "its not the best". Numerically it reads 5 starts 1-0-0, and that win was in the Belmont guineas same day a few years back. I agree, he is the one to beat, but looking outside the square I like Admiring, Battle Emblem and Inarticulate with the the front bars off

What are you on about???? We are gonna cop plenty, what the radar is showing now is the leading edge of the front which always is further forward the further south you go.......it extends as far north as nearly Geraldton that?s just still a little way off the coast, will be about 4pm maybe as late as 6pm before it hits Perth but it will. In all honesty the BOM do a great job hardly ever wrong these days
