The more i think, the more i like Grand Nirvana.

Kid Choisir, 1 run in 20 starts over the distance, further distance would suit its racing pattern so why now the increase?

    GN all the way

    2,3/1,4/1,6,9,15,16/6,8,10

That rain has obviously put ski's on Ranger and WS has lost a leg in the conditions.

with 6 extra kegs on the back, i gave ranger no chance, with the punting drift... obviously others didnt either

I had a good collect on him last start, but I couldn't touch him for the win today! He is obviously a class above where we thought he was!

I think the Railway market will get a massive upheaval after that!

PG most likely has a stronger finishing burst and won't have wolfe dreams in the front. I was expecting WS to take a sit

Weight is one of the most over rated variables in horse racing.

    Especially over the sprint trips!

Something tells me WS had an off day on that surface - and Ranger appreciated it - Ranger before today had never raced on a dead track!

    no it's not dt.
    it's a VERY important variable.
ws has had some hard runs lately.
ranger was upside down the day it beat ws by a nose.
    things change.
i wouldn't draw any inference about weight from the turnaround today.

My take on the weight issue is that its effect is greatest when it translates to the pace of a race-probably why its influence is greater over staying trips-where pace is key e.g Mosheen in the Oaks. In the example used Ranger beat WS with a weight pull of 7kg. Pike had Ranger right on WS's back-The weight pull allowed Pike to use up his mount early and put his mount in a favourable position considering the lack of anticipated pace. The anomaly is that while weight swings from WFA to HCPs seem to have a clear impact on the outcome of a race it doesn't work the other way. furthermore- you would generally expect more pace in a hcp race than a WFA contest, but with WS, the opposite is true. He is more inclined to roll along under level weights than when conceding so much in weight to his rivals.

Gee roll on the mile of the Guineas if Shining Knight draws a gate he wins simple as that Rons Call was given the world perfect run today as SK has drawn the outside in all 3 starts reverse the gates its a no race

SENHOR DA GAMA (Patrick Carbery) ? Held tight and carried inwards near the 600m. Rider was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the end of the race in future.

A John McEnroe quote comes to mind...

    "YOU CANT BE SERIOUS"

No disrespect to Shining Knight, obviously has plenty of ability and was a good run no doubt, the margin was 4L, Ron's Call eased up the last 100m and Shining Knight was under the whip. They both never spent a penny until the 600m.

I know which one id rather be riding going to the Guineas.
