Open letter to some jockeys on behalf of punter
West Australian Racing
Just a question i would like cleared up this one is to glen smith on our larrikin DO U KNOW HOW FAST U ARE GOING IN RACES.Yes i know u had a wide gate ect ect but i have to tell u from a punters point of view week in week out and u run clearly the best closing sectionals of the race and u go 15 wide on home turn so wide u could get a pie over fence and run a fast closing 4th at great odds which said punter is on each way it tends to drive us up wall after a few hours of form study as u only were going 12secs for first half of race y is it u were back so far that u give horse no hope are u just not trying or dont understand race pace. From were i am sitting said punter just is wondering it just happens so much as u are said to be professional riders i would have thought u know how quick u were going.U see from were said punter sits your margins for error seem to be out so far all the time that i struggle to understand maybe a few jocks can clear things up thanks. As i know u all get payed but us punters get zip so when u feel u are on best horse and u done work to find it i think its a fair question dont u.

-The horse was slowly away from an outside gate.
-It doesn't sit on the pace in the vast majority of races.
-If it is on-pace, it is because it is racing over more ground than today (and in lesser-class races than today).
-Since it was slow away it can't just zoom around the outside to take up a gun position or it will drop out at the finish.
-It doesn't usually measure up in todays class of field. You say you backed it today. Confirms that you are not top shelf in the form analysis stakes.
-Riding a racehorse in a race is not a computer game- you need to make split-second decisions and quite often 'plan A' doesn't eventuate.
-You are a pest.
-I think you might be related to Sam Newman.
Repeat.
I must remember to put in a space after each full stop.

YOU NEED TO FACTOR IN THE RUN THE HORSE IS GOING TO HAVE AND THE LIKELIHOOD THE JOCKEY WILL MAKE ERRORS
EVERYONE KNOWS JOCKEYS MAKE MISTAKES AND THAT IS A LOT MORE LIKELY ON A BACKMARKER
in the overall scheme of things the ride Glenn Smith gave the horse was totally expected
Mabel Grace should have been leading, no doubt. for whatever reason, he didnt, but Paterson's biggest mistake was moving back to the fence when he was third behind the leaders.....that was plain suicide. Im sure, being a kid, he'll learn a lot from that mistake. Im sure Adam doesnt like losing races like that......it was a walk up, all he had to do was get to the front. He'll no doubt mentor Paterson on where he went wrong.
You would hope that he or she gives it a hope of winning(no reference to a particular race)
If it was 1400, it wins going away and youre vindicated. Unfortunately your just not going to get the price in similar company next few starts i wouldnt have thought, its finish backs up szme, though absolutely nothing wrong with the ride given normal patterns and no, im not privvy to whatever potential instructions were issued by its connections
