Cox Plate - Winner.

Considering i started last weeks discussion for the cox plate, throwing out the winner with my tip.
I thought i better start one again for the cox plate.
Again im going against the trend and tipping Green Moon, seasoned campaigner who will run this trip out no problem. Even when the pressure is on. Barrier is more of a concern though, even with the Williams factor. The Valley is a hard track with barriers. I just hope he draws half decent.

Thoughts? Richie Callander declaring Proisir a morale, any reason why?

    First i have heard of it. Everyone i have heard is tipping the three year olds in Pierro or Proisir. I thought Green Moon would be the obvious tip, but it seems not. I'm not complaining, getting $5 atm.

    Am trying to build a case for Glass Harmonium should lead any support? Rouge won't doubt you after last week still think they should have given Dunaden same penalty as Northerly why not ?

    Glass Harmonium hasn't jumped in ages. Logic says it doesnt again, isnt fast enough or have enough stamina to get round to front if misses it.

    I think All Too Hard at $10 is a great bet. While the likes of Green Moon and Ocean Park have excellent claims, can they give the 3YOs 9.5 and 8 kg respectively?

    I reckon Rekindled Interest is a smokey for a good run! MV specialist and ran well in this race last year!

    As for your post - reckon that's what makes this race so great!

    Although these 3YO's are good, they both have different racing paterns, which Pierro has a much better chance of winning up on pace.
    The way i see the race, Pierro and Proisir take up the lead from the get go. With a horse like Green Moon camped on there back, More joyous not far away. With All too hard out the back. The 3YO's try to kick away on the turn for Green Moon to run them down, with more joyous possibly sneaking into the places. Oh and Ethipoa flashing late to get 4th.

    Even with the respective weight advantage, this is a hard run race. Pierro bottled it when he had to do it at both ends in his last start. With experienced horses making this interesting, i cant see Pierro winning this. If tipping any of the Waterhouse horses, get on More Joyous. She has been there before, maybe not a high pressure 2040m but Doncasters are pretty high pressure.

    I like the horse, was unlucky not to win last year, but had a few setbacks earlier in prep, missing a bit of work and this year's field is definitely stronger. def worth including in the first 4's. Surely one of the 3yo's will be in the finish this year, but Green Moon the one to beat for me

    Can't knock him, done nothing wrong so far. Alcopop franking that form last Saturday I think. If it comes down to a 200m sprint and he's close on the corner, I'm thinking he will figure in the first 4.

    The main reason i like him is that i look at the field i would suggest he's the only horse that can really sprint through a split. That's how i see him winning, not by being the best horse in the race.

    Barrier 9 though, he will probably be midfield at best in running. I cant see the speed being too hot and with the short straight i cant see it being a swoopers race. Horse that is within the first 6 horses on the corner will win im thinking.
    It took all too hard a good 350m to catch a knackered pierro, the short straight wont be suiting him coming from 13 or 14th on the corner.

    Cox Plate is the same most years; a war of attrition from the 1000. Green Moon the only one without a ?. A good each-way bet

    On it's last run Glass Harmonium has not got any hope at all. Wish it had as it has been generous to me in the past.

    The one at odds in the race is Ethiopia. Hope it gets the race run to suit. I also think it will be the first Australian horse home in the Melbourne Cup.

    As Corey Brown was fined $500 for exceeding the whip limit on Pierro I think the answer is yes

    Thought Munce could have had a few more swats at All Too Hard earlier in the straight, seemed to go for it fairly intensively when OP loomed up! But maybe I'm talking through my kick, anyone else have a thought on it?
