nah it is  Toodyay at Toodyay but under name of Northam ??? why - all the RWWA references are to Northam yet the betting sites have Toodyay -
if Toodyay is a CLUB and is approved to race on - why can't it be Toodyay at Toodyay

    - the form of all horses that go round there today will show Northam - don't tell me it is not possible to 'notate" it properly ! and don't come up with " under the auspices of RWWA " or else it should be RWWA at Toodyay ( via Northam -I think !)

It is a Northam meeting run at the Toodyay course.

A little bit similar to where Coolgardie run their meetings on the Kal track. I said a little.

Should say in the form Toodyay, that would save confusion.

So im guessing sky racing 2 then?

On Sky 1 and advertised there as Toodyay

Looks like it is on Sky 1

It is great Toodyay is getting a go today. Obviously benefiting from the postponed meeting last Saturday. First positive from such a poor month.

It's Northam Race Club racing at Toodyay. It's the same every year. Very misleading. It would be better to list it as Toodyay on CRIS so as not to mislead people.

King showed initiative and took off before the short straight and it won him the race. A lot of horses seemed to be off the bit really early with some picking up again late.

Going to be an interestin day

race 4 great ride for that track by Jarrad Noske..went hard up the hill, belted the thing onto the straight and it let down beautifully to just roll to the line.

Good work by the young fellow.. will put my had earned on him for the rest of the day

The run into the turn is uphill hence some horses dropping the bit, then coming again when they flatten out

Wish they had more racing like this...one reason racing is dying is that there is just so much meaningless boring crap served up. No different tracks, places and types of races. Places like Toodyay, Beverley and York are actually what racing sorely needs to get people interested. I know that this day has passed and the boring accountants rule the world but still feel racing has lost its soul by trying to become just another slot machine.

Damien when your horses ar'nt cutting it in town you'll be glad of places like Toodyay, Northam, albany etc. You are such a spoil sport. You belong in Melbourne, hope your horses do!

Please don't take it the wrong way, I have had slow horses, in fact most of them were. But Racing at the moment is a very low standard in Perth and surrounds. A few horses are starting to return for the Ascot season and maybe the tail end of Belmont, but lately the quality has been disappointing.

To me it doesn't really matter, the lens can make anything look good. But I couldn't imagine spending hours on form to have a bet and trying to work though what has been served up in recent weeks.

Damien, ordinary comment from a normally positive person. Thoroughly enjoyable day on a unique track, according to most riders the rise made proceedings difficult if you werent travelling with momentum approaching it. Otherwise a eeting to imbrace and the committee were happy with attendance (given the gloomy day) along with the standard of racing on the day.

Toodyay is always a good day. I haven't been for about 4 yrs, but it is a true picnic meeting. The quality of horses today was good for them...it isn't much different to a Moora or a Pingrup, but the horses were a lot higher quality than those meetings.Hope the day went well for the track/town

Enjoyed Toodyay more than Belmont yesterday!!
  • DamienWyerDamienWyer    7,985 posts
If this was a country meeting that had been wedged within outstanding metro racing, then my comments would have been unfair. But if Rio is correct in saying today was better than Belmont, then what does that say about Racing in Perth ? That is my point. If it can get weaker than this, then we have a hell of a hole to dig our product out of.

I would love to see local Racing grow stronger, but those who direct it's future seemingly are not working towards that goal. They very much just want  a betting product with little or no emphasis on a standard. The Belmont season this year has done nothing to enhance the product, and Ascot alone will not be the saving grace.

I'm sorry if my comment offended several. I certainly have had enough tell me privately or on this thread.

    That really wasn't the intent.

nah your right Damo...Perth city racing is well below par at the moment....and i didn't go but i'd guess those that did go today had a better day than those that went yesterday.
