The 2 topics you are responding to, are insignificant examples but they are issues that don`t help the perception of PR.

PR`s history creates the negative responses.

While your intentions may be positive, you need to be aware that any decisions or lack of decisions will be judged and scrutinized against PR`s history of incompetence.

Really Fastmoney. I would like to see how you would go negotiating the Belmont redevelopment. I was not there when it was largely done. I can tell you that it was not achieved by incompetent or ignorant individuals, quite the contrary. But no point in debating this with you. Here I go, I will state something that will give you all a buzz, "most of the comments I read on this forum are based on ignorance"

If you haven't been to Ascot or never watched a race at the course then you can't play albeit I reckon you will have just as much chance of answering the quiz.

I'll pay that Theodore but if people including designers and installers didn't notice the sign error and if this is an indication of the attention paid to signs in general then those advertisers paying the bucks for signs at the track have reason for concern. :-?

Eddie, I think you unfairly tar the contributors with the same brush. Perhaps you could be more specific in your claim.

Theodor tell me this what do you think of Van Heemst's decision to continue defending the indefensible after Robertson left and was no longer the CEO.

I would really love to hear a rational explanation from someone in authority in regard to that bizarre decision, a decision that cost the club and RWWA and the West many tens of thousands if not more in legal fees unnecessarily, rather than move to settle and apologize for destroying my personal and professional reputation and my professional career not to mention costing me a lucrative international employment opportunity.

Please justify that stroke of genius when the club was eventually forced to settle anyway and admit the truth.

Myself and my family wasted nearly five years of our lives fighting to clear my name because of the actions of so called industry leaders such as Van Heemst, Robertson, and O'Reilly, a fight that was forced upon us for no bloody reason whatsoever.

Then explain how the club and or RWWA can possibly justify allowing people such as Van Heemst and O'Reilly to remain in positions of power.

In addition to that please explain why the club again threatened me legally and pressured 6pr when I was going to be speaking to Howard Sattler soon after the settlement about evidence I had gathered prior to and events that occurred prior to my defamation action of which I had ironclad proof and also events that were not within the jurisdiction of any non disclosure agreement that I was forced to sign.

Due you also consider that an appropriate use of club resources?

Until someone there has the integrity and intestinal fortitude to face up to me and my family and take some action in regard to this and against the individuals involved, every poor decision and mistake that is made by the club will continue to be highlighted.

You have lost probably forever a regular racegoer who loved going to the races and mixing with my many friends and contacts within the industry both on racedays and at trials etc, now you can't drag me out there unless I absolutely have to attend for some reason.

Previously I also used to write passionately in a number of different local and national publications about the industry and was a staunch supporter of hard working industry people.

I also used to regularly turnover substantial amounts each week through both the on course tote and on course bookmakers and often used to bring my family and close friends to the races, none of whom now attend any meetings as a direct result of what occurred.

So next time you think people are not giving the Turf Club a fair go and shouldn't be so critical of the club and its efforts, think about my case and the litany of costly errors that have been made by the club over the years and you might begin to fathom why there is a considerable amount of healthy scepticism towards the actions of the Turf Club and that of its so called leader Van Heemst.

Andrew more than likely, would have had a career in some capacity in Racing had it not been for this action taken by Perth Racing. I can't think of too many people who would go quietly had this happened to them.

I would like to see him move on, but I completely understand his need to vent when you listen to the dribble that comes out of some troll on here.

Do you think incorporating a five star venue with a view of the river and the city, would be a good idea, It could then be leased out to a top class chef to use on a full time basis, such as Rockpool.

This would attract the top end of the town on a daily basis and provide a constant income stream.

I am not talking of a mum and dad operation but a full 5 star, with world class offerings, wine , food and chef.
After all we need a good restaurant there and the Turf Club are not in the catering business at that level.

good idea, darkhorse but there are about 5 5* restaurants across the road.take your pick, chinese, french, italian and a steakhouse and japanese.

it would be a huge, expensive gamble.

as a matter of interest a mate was guest at the swanky chinese last tuesday night and he and his wife took the opportunity to have a peek at the other top class eateries. they were astounded to find them extremely well patronised..bearing in mind it was a tuesday night.

there is plenty of spare cash in perth!!

How can you say that as a member of the Perth Racing Committee ? I don't care if Andrew rants, I have said many times I hope he can move on, but this attitude of yours is contemptible.

I have said many things on here critical of Andrew. He certainly hasn't endeared himself to me. Or anyone, likely but nothing forgives this tawdry and bizarre episode.

So Theodor you obviously tacitly or otherwise condone the actions of Van Heemst, Robertson and O'Reilly in that case, that tell me two things, it speaks volumes for your character and ethics and makes you perfect for the committee.
Secondly it means you openly condone corruption and the abuse of power because their actions were the very definition of those two outstanding qualities that clearly are a prerequisite to become a WA thoroughbred industry leader.

Well before my time Andrew. My point is that I would rather you not rant on this site to me about something that happened well before I was involved in any capacity at PR other than as a member. I don't know the facts or even what it was all about. As I said, I hope you can move on as it seems to be wrecking your life. I don't wish to engage on this as I have no idea how it can change anything. For the record there are only 3 committee members that have been on the committee for more than 4 years.

I am also regular racegoer and i do not recall you turning over substantial amounts of money with tote or bookys when you attended the races. dont actually recall you betting at all.Also regarding the lucrative international media opportunity. As the charges against you were not proven and with your talents in journalism over 20 years i am very surprised you have not received other offers.
