Is that your first saturday winner @RIO

i've had one other Saturday winner. Today was as good as it gets. From memory, i think someone said it was their first horse, or first city horse, And for several owners it was definitely their first Saturday winner.

Martin is a good young bloke. This is what you like to see happen to good, hardworking people. He and Jo put in the work and i hope this is the first of many rewards they get.

Cant believe this outcome.....horse owner for less than 72hrs and already won the cost of it back!!!!

Appreciate the comments, it couldn't have happened this quickly if everyone didn't react so quickly....Great start to a new interest for all of us on PTT

I've never met any of the people on The forum, but I am stoked for all who are involved, especially @sinti & @RIO. Congratulations to all, what a day it would have been up there for you.

    Wasn't meant to be serious.

This ownership story deserves a write up in the paper. Previous forum comments may have burnt some bridges with journos but  if not in the sporting section how about inside cover in the West?

Need to keep things in perspective too, Martin's other runner won a trial and then ran last.

The trial Essayez won was bloody slow too.

    All good things take time.
    This bloody didn't. THANKFULLY.

Good news! Hey don't underestimate this as a news story. Get Tim Gossage onto it if no one else covers it or Millsy on 6PR. Should be on Racing Radio but due to comments previously espoused about that station on here that may be doubtful.

I'd never considered buying into a horse, until Falcon put it up here and Rio done all the hard work organising, but one look at her trial and it was a no brainer.

I really hope through everyone involved Martin can gain some more clients through word of mouth because the bloke obviously knows what he's doing!

Out of interest how many owners are first timers or owners who can now skite about their first city winner.
  • thefalconthefalcon    20,505 posts
correct darktarget..he is a really decent young man.
he rode in the UK.when I asked why he gave it away...no weight problems bullshit..he said " I was not good enough"...that won me over as to him being a very genuine person and that has been borne out in the last few weeks...
so many of them are chock-a-block full of crap...not this bloke.
I don't think he wants any more horses, he rides work for NDP and does break ins.....I feel he is just finding his feet and is in no hurry....no delusions of grandeur like a lot of them have plus he's honest as the day is long...he will go far in a few years and we are in on the ground floor....

I've had 4, including this one 2 of them won in the provincials another, a magnificent looking lohnro with form from NSW 5 starts 1-2-0 turned out to be a bloody bleeder..thought of legal action but how can you win against the big boys. henry nearly got a nasty letter...but whats the use?
    now this little filly..... :x
