    I think there is a lot of people who got there first Saturday winner yesterday. Maybe more than half. But I'm surprised at how many first time owners. At least 3 that I am now aware of!!

    And yes. It is one of those good racing industry stories. We argue, whinge, fight and slag off at each other. But at the end of the day that same passion has gelled us together to have our day in the sun. And I don't just mean the 16 syndicate members. Its something for the whole PTT site. We'll all ride this wave of success. I don't think anyone bought in to make money, I'm sure we all bought in to have a bit of fun. And after that run I can't imagine how we won't be having a lot more. :D :-bd <:-P

    This ownership story deserves a write up in the paper. Previous forum comments may have burnt some bridges with journos but  if not in the sporting section how about inside cover in the West?

    just goes to show u dont have to own the whole horse to have the fun. 1% or 100%, the feeling you get screaming your lungs out at the 200m mark is all the same

    2nd horse i've bought into but my 1st horse is yet to hit the track so it was amazing to see the horse race a few days after buying her.

    so first horse you had race wins a Saturday race......pretty good way to start, hope the other trainer can live up to these standards.

    I've had about half a dozen pacers and have only ever won a R0 and R1 down in Collie so to manage a Saturday win at Ascot with my first involvement in a thoroughbred is unbelievable especially after only 3 days.
    Really happy for Martin to score a win at his second start as a trainer and hopefully many more to come, It would be great if Essayez is the launching pad for a long career.
    I was on a tight schedule yesterday and had to drop the missus off at the airport but managed to pull off the road into Ascot just before they jumped and have 1 quick beer with the boys after the win. Looking forward to catching up and knocking a few back next time.

    A few of you boys in the past have been a little critical of Peter Knuckey too! Seem to travel well for him , each time he gave it a inch Essayez responded. Ranged up to Pikes mount and then put the race away in a blink. Well rated Pete!

    Knuckey had that real bad day where he butchered 3 hot pots. He seemed to lose the plot on that 1 occasion. Overall he's a good jock.

    Slipper is usually run on or around the Karrakatta if I'm not mistaken so might be better to stay home for the soft kill

    I've known peter k. since his early days...was a good apprentice, did a stint in melb. and has developed into a more than reasonable jockey.
    he is the late great Rod Evans's nephew.....Peters dad and Rods wife were brother and sister.
