What no mention of old mate hsky family blowing crap out of race. If there was to be an upset it would be Angel Sky!   lot of folks bitch and moan no ones tips to my old school friends here they know  im all over this like a fly on a turd, regardless its spruik. has stuff all chance of beating topy, but im sure some one out there knows the patterns . And sometimes it time to play the game

Angel Sky 'might' do something - No one knows anything about her other than a relatively slow trial.

I can't say much to knock RK except that if he is as good as what everyone thinks he is why isn't he off to the eastern states for bigger money?

Which 2 year old races would you suggest would be worth going over east for right now?
I haven't had a good look around but there is one over ther tomorrow for $80,000 and I'm sure there are more.
Today's race is for 60k, and don't forget by the time you throw in the westspeed money it effectively becomes an 80k race.

Will note the post preceded the release of the field.
Copped a bit sharper field than probably expected, for the time of year.
(Big fan of stalking... ;) )

Really?  Two weeks out from the Northam Stakes, were else do you think they were going to be?  For the one's that don't like 1st up into a race, this is a good race field. :D

The rest of it looks a bit like a dishlickers meeting. 5 races with 8 runners. Whoever draws Barrier 1 gets to wear the red. Won't want too many scratchings.

Reckon they should have tipped Sheidel out after its last win myself. Going to the well once to often.

Because Sheidel has shown signs of training off? What is it with wanting horses in the paddock after they've won a few?
Goes out now, comes back a 4 year old? Couple more runs with an extra kilo off now, and worst it can do is that she needs a bigger spell....

be wary of that last race, its not as cut and dried as it seems.
have you forgotten travinator, benito or even dueton..and another one at about 24's?

Terrific filly but cant get away from the fact RK was a moral beat pilot error big time

    Bulltwang. Swap barriers who wins?

    Bulltwang. Swap barriers who wins?

Sheidel?  RK still slow out.  Willy won't go forward to put a speed batttle on, so tries a sit.  With two stablemates helping, he still ends up three wide without cover 600m out, and runs second
  • TiversTivers    7,720 posts
Well as a RK connection, I can only comment - i was very vocal that we were in trouble when we ended up in gate one.

Always laugh when I read media articles etc that a horse has "drawn perfectly in one".
Would rather draw 10 in most instances than one.

So to partly answer that question - I'd gladly have swapped gates.
As to who would then have won......don't really care. Got a nice cheque, horse is back (from his issues), carry on......

sorry, who ended up 3 wide no cover Gaz? Not Rebel King, I can guarantee you that.

Having said that, had he got the breaks in the straight, he makes a good finish of it for sure.
  • TheDivaTheDiva    13,248 posts
sorry i get you, hypothetically if he goes forward...    ;)
  • GaryHGaryH    1,012 posts
I still think RK should have won, even with the barrier.  Sheidel was always going to kick at the top of the straight, and the gap behind her was a monster (which fishy used well to finish third).  But Willy had already set RK out to go around them.

Too much pressure on him to get off the fence instead of waiting for it (and, if Sheidel had gone to many times to the well, she would have folded into his lap)  Sorry Bobby, had to point it out ;)

Maybe Willie thought she might not kick like she did too! Ah well looks like there are wins in store for the Rebel yet. All is not lost!
