Agree, everyone getting very carried away by an Adelaide win in which they were very, very good against a severely depleted Eagles side that clearly had an RDO and were terrible. No Schofield, no Masten, no Wellingham, and no Butler and McGovern was also a bit rusty and then injured.

    Sigh.

So looks like the first week is set in stone unless there's a boil over between the lions and dogs. We shall see.

If they both win this weekend, wind that price in to around $2.50 or thereabouts...

The $3.50 for West Coast/ Hawthorn looks a good bet to me. The loser looks set to meat Freo in a Prelim and I'd back either to knock them off.

After what I witnessed last night Funk Freo are not in the same post code as WC as much as it kills me to say it yes reckon we need to make a statement today or otherwise the Cup is heading to Perth just not our way unfortunatley that's reality my friend Hawks were very avg they didn't handle pressure at all they butchered the ball like Freo have been doing for weeks I would like to see a 4 quarter effort as they are missing 2 midfielders and still won

Bullshit - WC making the grandy is our best chance of winning the thing.

Lets win tomorrow for a start.

We couldn't beat them at home with 4 out last time Nic Nat Lecras McGovern

    You mean the game:
    - Fyfe hobbling
    - no McPharlin
    - no Ballantyne
    - Johnson deplorably underdone/rusty
    - No Dawson (preferable for JJK if McP was out)

Sandi changes their whole centre clearance game, cos NN cant jump all over him. Some of the anticipatory 'cheating' by Shuey yesterday was next level. That can't happen against us.

We'd won 10 of the last 11 or something prior to that one. And you're writing us off completely against them?

No MCG advantage to them either.

I hear what your saying mate and agree MCG would be ok but they simply smashed us like they did to The Hawks last night and we coughed the ball up all day and no pressure on the ball carrier hope I'm wrong but I suspect not

Someone finally acknowledging the reality of the Dockers relatively poor form, will wonders never cease, lucky to get away with today as if conditions hadn't been so average Sydney probably win, kicked 7.18???
Still bad kicking,l even in difficult conditions, is bad footy so you never know, you're still alive at least although I wouldn't think for much longer.

Oh dear it seems the pressure and frustration is getting to the Dockers supporters, maybe you shouldn't have carried on all year like the flag was already yours???

Can't say you weren't repeatedly told about how poor their form really has been over the past three months.

A dangerous practice getting ahead of yourselves when your club throughout its entire history has achieved absolutely zero.

Getting ahead of ourselves? Are you not the one banging on all yeat about "how comfortable you are with your 11 bucks" ...

I am taking the double for a fill up Eagles for premiers and McGinnity to win Norm Smith. :))

Don't think even JC himself could get McGinnity a Norm Smith and barring injury he certainly won't be getting a GF berth.
It would be a bigger miracle than feeding the masses or turning water into wine for McGinnity to win a Norm Smith.

DS I'm just rapt at the considerable overs I got, think they're about 7/4 favourite currently and will be even shorter if they win their prelim.

Well for once North have stood up in a big game that really mattered, you have to feel sorry for the Tigers though and their fans, they're living a never ending Greek tragedy. Lets see if they can do it again next week.

You forgot about the two finals north won last year? And the wins against the Eagles and dockers this year?

Well when they get knocked out by Sydney this week they will have actually gone backwards and even then if they happen to win which I doubt, they will get a hiding from us over here.
  • AndrewCarterAndrewCarter    2,171 posts
Still nothing to worry about though with father time still being your best player, what that says about your player group is really hard to fathom.

Doesn't change the fact that you were WRONG again Andrew.
We've stood up in many games that mattered over the past few years.
Yep, one bloke got us across the line yesterday. Another good call Andrew!

I never said he got you over the line by himself, but it's a real worry that at 37 he's still by far and away your best and most consistent player.

Always liked Petrie, Firrito gives his all, have liked Ben Brown from day one, am a big wrap for him, I like young dumont who debuted this year but as for the likes of Lindsey Thomas and many others on that team you're more than welcome to them.

    every team has their mcginnity...
you've conveniently missed out Goldstein, Waite, higgins and ben jacobs, the bloke to took out cotchin.
Harvey got the most kicks yes... well done!
