When the TAB opened there markets it was very tight , 99% of them were 'unders'... one horse that looked to be 'overs' was the $7.50 My Hard Copy. The rest is history.

MHC and Bhagwan my only winners on the night from 8 bets...stayed out of the first and the trotters......but a very interesting night. My only real gripe was Machtu who set it up for Mohegan Son....I keep saying to myself "follow the leader bias", it's obvious...but I don't. But overall, hats off to MHC and thought Devendra was pretty game but not going as well as he did in the Inters heats. Waylade...surely to the paddock, a shadow of his former self.

Exactly JJ....whoever does the prices...instead of opening Waylade at these silly ridiculous odds...put him up at his rightful price...Clickety click to one..66/1.

That was 10 Pacing Cup wins for Seinor...Even allowing for having the cattle , it's still a pretty good effort. Quite a few placegetters behind the winners too.

John of Arc had to have a look, it was the only way he would feature in the finish. He just can't muster any speed wide on the tight turns. I had a nibble each way in the hope he would press and look to find a spot up front early. Had a look, not there, fair play. Perhaps connections might consider sending him east to run on the bigger tracks. Seems to be wasting his time at GP.

Handy month and a half for Devendra. Has picked up about $170k. Rattray would be giggling as he isn't even the best in his barn. Speaking of barns, does anyone know if Devendra will stay in WA with Elson or is he heading back to Rattray?

Heading back East with Rattray .....mentioned Hunter Cup, Miracle Mile etc. If he did stay here, he could win plenty more, lovely horse, so foolproof.

Just for a second before John Of Arc took off could not believe how slow the speed Devendra was setting. Almost a fraction too slow ? Possibly inviting a bit of an attack. Looking forward to Lovers Delight leading, a good barrier and he's as good as anybody but needs to dictate terms in front.

Fantastic win by My Hard Copy in going back to back WA Pacing Cups a great little pacer. Beaudiene Boaz ran another cracker of a race and may well have pinched it if Jnr stayed on the pegs as it looked like Devendra moved up the track enough to allow room but he did try and give him every chance by getting off his back.

My Hard Copy reminds me a little of a horse from the past Elteei...the hard sharp sprint with some toughness...think he's going to be better than Elteei who was very smart and a bit underrated.

I think MHC is a much better horse than Elteei, he has to go East and perform but I think he will be suited sat up on the bigger tracks. Elteei struggled over at MV but to be fair, its hard to compare eras. Elteei's best over there was a 3rd to gosh in an Inters Heat in 1985. He was still going as a 12 year old winning a $2000 race at Bunbury before retiring 3 starts later.

My view n WA Pacing Cup night.

R 2 - Paid Twice , career best run by at least 50mts, and did burn the gate in blistering lead time.
R 5 - Makemcry Maori, going to run a place but Voak starts belting it with the whip, only a $30,000 race, and he did the same thing on a Saturday night race at GP last year, and it galloped at the same point, if I owned it, I would lose it.
R 6 - Team Hall at its best again. C Hall puts the big shepard on at the start and then drives Elegant Christian for 2nd, looked bad but no question of driving tactics.Very slow lead time, very slow 1st half.
R 7 - Team Hall at its best again, This time Junior repays the favour by putting pressure on the leader, so his brother gets the pie run in the one/one. Again no query on driving tactics.
R 9 - M Ferguson, what was he going at the start? Must have wanted to sit 4 back the fence.
R 10 - Voak gets beaten out at the start, Team Hall dictating, he pulls out under the whip at 1400 and 600, horse 1st up, horse going to Vic derby heats, horse always going to run last, if a kid drove like that in his 1st race you would give him/her a spray. Well slaughtered

Congrats to G Hall senior on 10 WA pacing cuos, great effort.

Machtu and Mohegan surely deserved the question being asked.

i thought id jump on here make a few comments about something which took place Friday night.

a few weeks ago a 2yo girl was tragically run over in a drive way accident by her father. this family had already lost their other daughter 9 months earlier. i dont know how anyone would ever understand the pain they are in.

the uncle and grand father of the girl own a interest in a pacer with the hall stable.

i discussed with clint hall during the week the possibility of doing something at the trots as a tribute. the girl used to love the trots with the pony rides and the family had some nice photos of this at home, and the uncle and myself had already been planning to be at pacing cup night.

clint and gary hall jnr went above and beyond with this by wearing her name on their pants for the night.

clint and jnr made this night something special for some of the family which attended. they put a smile on the face of the family and friends if only for the night and gave them some joy in a very dark period for the family.

they also invited them down after the pacing cup to meet some more of the family and friends and pass on their regards and offered the driving pants they were wearing after the night with her name.

for this i thank clint, jnr and the hall stable. the uncle made comment the next day it was the first time he had seen some of the family and friends smile in the past 2 weeks. and i believe the halls deserve the praise for making this happen.

All very good, well done to them. But it will not make them immune to eagle eyed analysis from those who pay their wages ....punters!!!

Great gesture and a wonderful thing too do in tragic circumstances off the track.

But you do not have to be EAGLE EYED, too see what they get away with,on the track itself. What they did in the nights of thunder final ???? well questions needed to be asked for stewards. But as usual, nothing will happen.

Funny how the Albany suspension was called on here long before it actually became fact.

Nothing in Stewards Report about the Head of The River, other than post race swabs taken. G.Hall jnr now out for 7 weeks..... after getting 3 weeks for coming out sharply on Beaudienne to add to the 4 weeks he started on January 15.

So one out two back is as far back as a winner came from although realistically the 26.9 is the only really fast early quarter when you consider the times the track now produces. Its almost like the drivers haven't yet caught onto how fast the track actually is now. 28.9 the slowest quarter run home in (other than the trot) and nothing looked likely to run on hard in any of the races frankly. Have we seen anything flash home (i'm talking from a way back) and actually win?

In the ten races only one leader missed a place and that was in the trot when he looked likely to run a place before breaking up.

As far is G Hall's drive on Machtu I don't really have an issue with it, he was travelling better than the leader so put some psychological pressure on it, where I feel he erred in the drive was that he still had his legs under Ti Amo at the first bend, should probably have tried to kick through and take up the running and would likely have won the race. Yep stable mate had its back but I don't think it changed his driving, things are going to look like that though when you have the multiple runner effect.

So after trying to be too smart last week think I'll purely be looking leader leader leader thins week, watch that slow them down.
