West Australian Racing
Thought id have a good look at one of the harder races in my opinion, Race 3 on the card.

It looks to be a fairly even bunch at the top end of the market for this 1200 m set weights maiden. To my eye, the top 6 in betting order the ones that will figure in the finish with little hope given to the rest.

Four of the these come from the trials while the other two have had at least a run. For mine, I really like the trial of #6 Eristic for P Knuckey. Had only the one start last prep where raced very greenly and was put away for a nice break over the summer. Returns here after a pretty dominant trial win where he lead them fairly comfortably and had a nice kick at the business to win under his own steam in a nice enough time. Has the Winkers first time here and from the Ok draw could show some early pace and get a comfortable lead and if so could prove hard to run down. Of the other trial runners, I thought the better of them was a very quiet Manhattan Money, has come up favourite for the race and is maybe under the odds for this first up assignment. Pike goes onto Regal Magic who was a close up 4th in its trial while the winning trial by Financial support was very good and was pushed out noticeably to get the win. In saying all that, I think #12 Michelle La Belle has excellent claims here up to 1200m after a big finish last start at York over 1100m and has the services of J McNaught with only 53kg on the back, has drawn nicely compared to some of the others mentioned and can position up nicely in the running line and come home with a burst. For third i'll go with the trial winner in Financial Support who ran excellent time while being pushed out for the win and has the nice draw from 3. For forth I think we'll see a good run form Manhattan Money going to 1200m first up, barrier 1 might be his undoing while Empowered drops back to the 1200m and has to come from barrier 10. Is some hope if can get a soft enough lead with the race fitness on his side. Leaving out Pike is fraught with danger and will no doubt be kicking myself after the race. Hard to make any claims for the remainder.

Numbers 6-12-4-2

Suggest #6 Eristic each way 2 x 3

Novelty first four 2-4-12**S1-6-10-11**S2**S2

Had a few bucks on Cricket in da house race 3, 3 wide for a 1100 metres no cover, peaked like a shot duck as ran twice as far as all the other horses. cheers Julian Kokotolya

    Nearly!

and that is why it pays to take FD for fourth in your quartets, might kill the percentage but when a roughie lobs in 4th the difference in divis for the trifecta and first 4 are huge

Peter Hall take a bow. A race full of cats but that run was timed to perfection.

Will go to the well again for race 7, hoping for some good fortunes...

Another extremely open race to finish the day with a huge amount of form lines coming together.

Who's going to lead...who knows? It might be a case that Pike on Frosty Bay or C Parnham on Nicconis Boy may take the initiative and go forward here and stay out of harms way. Sifting through previous runs and replays has lead me to a couple of contenders to storm home over the 1400m. I've settled on Good Fortune for S Parnham whom I can never catch. Last start was absolutely climbing all over them, finally decided to switch around heels at the 200m and charge into 4th. I have no doubt with clear air for the majority of the straight he would have played a part in the finish. Has been running around in Class 1 races and goes to a class 3 here, but has drawn perfectly to get the gun run and needs only a repeat of last start with clear running to figure. We hold our breath with Stevie. Deimos is going to 1400m first up after flying home in a 950m trial, obviously he is destined for the longer trips and the 58.5 kg with barrier 11 certainly the steadier and look for him at 1600m+ next start. Salubrious comes out of a hot Saturday race and was $151+ where taking the short cuts and running into trouble 8th behind The Velvet King. Has certainly been found in the market and I'd be expecting a drift late to $6+. The claim for Cloe helps with the 62.5 kg. As mentioned, Nicconis Boy could be ridden more positively and be certainly in the finish for our mate @thefalcon. As aside, beware the Maley pair of Pelican pick and Matty's Choice, it wouldnt surprise to see one of them bob up at long adds.

    Numbers 11-4-1-3

Suggest each way #11 Good Fortune

    Novelty Quinella 1-4-11 always
