Pearl Classic & Ducimus Crown

I have never paid any attention to prizemoney percentages. Just had a look at the Pearl Classic and Ducimus Crown at Pinjarra this Saturday. Both $80000 races with $43920 going to the respective winners. That is only 54.9% of the total stake. That percentage seems poor.
I am sure our winners purse percentage was much higher in the past decades.

Owners being gouged. Could easily have taken jockey welfare out of jockeys' percentage. Biggest earners would pay the lion's share.

Click on CRIS site and there is an update on there.
Yes Winning percentage for owners is going down and training fees and costs are going up.

But the figures are VERY VERY misleading. the breakdown is given after the jockeys and trainers 15% has come out of the prizemoney won.
So not a true reflection of how prizemoney is divided up.

I see there paying to 16th in the 3yo MM race,

    Only 12 runners. 13th to 16th get $3000 each.

According to the BOM Pinjarra max is 34.  Seems hard to believe that much of a difference but definitely won’t get to 40

Edit - looking at the BOM MetEye which is the gold standard for forecasting (take note those podcasters who use anything else) it really looks like Pinjarra will be under 35

Absolute ridiculous decision! They raced at ascot last Saturday in 39 degrees yet tomorrow It’ll be lucky to get to 35 max down at Pinjarra
Crowd numbers will drop being a Sunday and the poor raceclub and local pub’s turnover will take a huge hit being on a Sunday now

Not so sure about that Hash. I'm 200kms south of Perth and its predicted to be 40 degrees. Perth is predicted 40 degrees and Pinjarra is in the middle, so I would say its going to be a belter with zero breeze around.
In saying that, if you are correct. I agree with everything you are saying about the hit everyone involved will take.

and the Narrogin Cup was on Sunday, looks like it has disappeared.

There’s a light sea breeze due in around midday yet Sunday there are westerly winds forecast all day hence the cooler change but I’m still pretty confident it won’t get nowhere near 40 tomorrow
Good day for fishing though so I’m definitely not complaining

    I just noticed that Meatpie.
Out of everyone in this debacle. They will be the ones that miss out the most. They usually draw a big crowd to there Sunday cup meeting. Doubt many go now its a Monday. Small clubs like that need there big paydays like that to keep afloat.

Pinjarra forecast has been increased slightly to 37 but could well go up slightly from that, MetEye has definitely got pinja tra into a higher temp zone on the map.  They raced when it was hotter at ascot last weekend however so seems a strange decision

The BOM says Pinjarra will get to 39°C.......or 37°C depending on which info you look at. Talk about an each way bet.

There’s no weather station in Pinjarra so only way to know would be if the track staff took a reading.  Max in Mandurah was 33 but obviously those 20km east can make a big difference, I’d really like to know.

Fact is the forecast for Pinjarra went from 34 to 37 to 40 from Wednesday to Friday.  They clearly had early news of the Friday update to 40 from the Bureau so made the correct call.
